(1) Gluten-Free Caramel Chocolate Chip
The Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies have a subtle caramel flavor with a hint of sea salt. They are crunchy, not soft, and a bit dry and crumbly. However, it’s important to note that these cookies are only available in select markets. If you have a friend in another state, you might be able to get one from them.
Keep in mind that Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies contain oat flour, which can be a controversial ingredient in the gluten-free world. Nonetheless, these cookies are certified gluten-free by the GFCO (Gluten Intolerance Group’s Gluten-Free Certification Organization), and I tested them for hidden gluten using my Nima Sensor, a portable gluten-detecting device. Fortunately, no gluten was detected!
(2) Gluten-Free Toffee-tastic Cookies
Toffee-tastic Girl Scout cookies are certified gluten-free by the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) and are offered in select markets. These crispy and buttery cookies contain sweet and crunchy golden toffee bits. Unlike the Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies, Toffee-tastic cookies do not contain oats and are primarily made from rice flour and tapioca starch.

It’s worth noting that the Toffee-tastic cookies are manufactured on the same equipment as products containing wheat. However, the Girl Scouts assure us that the production line is thoroughly cleaned between runs and tested to ensure that it is free of gluten.
That being said, if you are not a fan of toffee flavor, these cookies may not be your cup of tea. Nevertheless, I did taste one for the sake of research, and while they were okay, they tasted more buttery than toffee-like.
Gluten-Free Girl Scout Alternatives
While it is commendable that the Girl Scouts are embracing inclusivity within the gluten-free community, the current gluten-free cookie options may not be everyone’s favorite. If you’re like me and can’t stop thinking about Thin Mints, here are a few gluten-free alternatives for you to consider:
(1) Goodie Girl Mint Cookies
Goodie Girl Mint Cookies are gluten-free and taste almost identical to Thin Mints. You can find them on Amazon or at many local grocery stores nationwide. You might even stumble upon them at Marshall’s or HomeGoods.
(2) Gluten-Free Mint Oreos
Although not exactly like Thin Mints, gluten-free mint-flavored Oreo cookies come pretty close in terms of taste.
