All-Star team selection and went 0-for-3…Scott’s homer off Tom Glavine on July 28 at ATL was his last as a Phillie and the 150th of his career… Hit his first career pinch-homer on Sept. 4 vs. CIN, a solo shot off Bruce Chen…Was named N.L. Player of the Week for Sept. 16-22 (.421 BA, 8 Runs, 5 HRs and 8 RBI)…Homered (#29) for the 4th straight game on Sept. 20 vs. HOU, hitting five homers in those four games…On Sept. 27 signed an eight-year contract extension with the Cardinals.

2002 POST-SEASON: Made his first career postseason appearance, but it was a brief one, as he was forced out of Game 2 of the Division Series when Arizona pinch runner Alex Cintron collided with him and injured his left shoulder… Scott homered in Game 1 off Randy Johnson…Was on the League Championship Series roster, but was unable to play.

2001

Won his third Gold Glove (second consecutive)…Finished third among N.L. third basemen with .973 fielding %, but second in putouts (104), assists (325) and total chances (441)… Homered on Opening Day for third consecutive year, Apr. 2 at FLA…Was named N.L. Player of the Week, Aug. 6-12, .545 (12-for-22), eight runs, four HR and seven RBI.

2000

Earned second career Gold Glove Award…Finished second among N.L. third basemen in fielding % (.971), behind SF’s Bill Mueller (.974)…Homered on Opening Day for the second consecutive year, Apr. 4 at ARI…Became the 7th Phillie to hit 20 HR’s in four consecutive seasons and first since Mike Schmidt (1974-87)…Hit first HR at Houston’s Enron Field in a 4-1 win on Apr. 7…Hit 2nd career grand slam, May 12 vs. ATL…Was on DL, May 24-June 8, with a sprained left ankle, suffered May 23 at HOU (missed 14 games)…Hit 100th career HR, Aug. 1 at SD, becoming the second-youngest Phillie in history to reach 100 HR behind Del Ennis.
