Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has won the Premier League’s Golden Glove award for 2022-23.
De Gea went into Saturday’s game against Bournemouth with two more clean sheets than his closest competitor, Liverpool’s Alisson.

Alisson needed to record shut-outs in Liverpool’s final two fixtures to have a chance of sharing the accolade, but Jacob Ramsey struck for Aston Villa in a 1-1 draw.
De Gea, meanwhile, kept out Bournemouth for Erik ten Hag’s side, recording his 17th clean sheet of the Premier League season in a 1-0 win.
The United goalkeeper won the Golden Glove in 2017-18 when he kept 18 clean sheets. He will beat that figure if he keeps out Chelsea on Thursday night and Fulham on Sunday, 28 May.

The Spaniard is the second Manchester United goalkeeper to keep the most clean sheets across a single Premier League campaign more than once, after Peter Schmeichel (1994-95, 1995-96 and 1997-98).
Ten Hag said: “Don’t forget about the team, because we are defending with 11 and we are playing out of a good plan.
“But of course, in the end, we have a very good goalkeeper and he has saved a lot of great opportunities from the opposition. So he’s done a really good job today once again.”
De Gea has come under scrutiny several times this season, with his kicking one element of his game in the spotlight.

But Ten Hag said he wanted De Gea to commit his future to the club, despite an error in early May resulting in West Ham’s winner during defeat at the London Stadium.
The 32-year-old’s United contract is set to expire in the summer — although the club have an option to trigger a one-year extension — and the Manchester United manager emphasised his continued confidence in his goalkeeper.
“We want him to stay and we want him to extend his contract,” Ten Hag said.
“He has the most clean sheets in the Premier League, so we would not be in this position without him. So he has fully my belief, no concerns, that happens but as a team you have to deal with it, you have to show character, be resilient and bounce back and this team will do.”
The win against Bournemouth puts United on the brink of a return to the Champions next season, Ten Hag’s side needing only a draw from their final two games.
