Do NOT buy from some random Muay Thai shop in the malls in places like Nana or MBK as the prices are usually inflated. Read this before your trip to Bangkok if you intend to fit in some gear shopping. And if you find it useful, remember to share this article with your friends!)
If you have the opportunity to visit Bangkok, there is no doubt that shopping for Muay Thai stuff is going to be a definite feature on your to-do list. Hordes of tourists fly into the Thai capital daily to indulge in shopping.
The prices used to be ridiculously cheap compared to what you get back home but rising costs in Thailand along with the world of online retail (i.e. Amazon) has bridged the gap over the years.
Prices for the top brands have increased over the last year but overall, prices in Bangkok are still cheaper compared to online prices. More importantly, there’s nothing like trying the gear or testing the equipment out in person before you hand over the money.
The sexy allure of holding Muay Thai gear in your hands is a pure and ecstatic feeling. Not to mention the overwhelming range of available choices!
I have consolidated a list of Muay Thai shops that I frequent every time I visit Bangkok as well as others that are well worth a visit. I literally went the distance, putting in the miles to collect all the information but hey, anything for my readers.
This list is really as comprehensive as it gets on the web. It may not be definitive as I have opted to highlight the more centralised and accessible shops in this article for convenience but these are the shops with the best selection at the best prices.

Where to Shop Muay Thai Gear in Bangkok
You will be able to find all the common and popular brands in the shops I have featured, but if you have a particular gear/apparel model in mind, you may go away empty-handed and disappointed. This is because a lot of the shops, even the official stores, do not carry the full catalog of their products.
But come with no expectations, and be prepared to be blown away by the prices, friendly service and seemingly unlimited options. Here are the best shops to buy Muay Thai gear in Bangkok:
(Note: Shops are marking up the prices and then offer a discount, a practice that is getting more widespread in Bangkok. I won’t name names but you will still be able to find real great deals if you know where to look. And this guide is pretty much all you need. )
1) National Stadium Area
Long established as the sports hub of Bangkok and widely-regarded for its the highest concentration of sports equipment stores, the National Stadium Area is my number one recommendation for sourcing Muay Thai gear.
There are around 10 decent Muay Thai shops, all within walking distance, with the best priced Muay Thai goods that Thailand has to offer. Fan-favorite brands such as Fairtex, Twins Special, Windy, Top King, and lesser known brands like Thai Battle, SKS Empire and FBT can all be found here at much better rates than any elsewhere.
Kee La Pun
Located at the strategic corner of the Rama I – Banthat Thong Road junction sits the new king in town. Kee La Pun has been around as long as all the other shops on the block and while it has always stocked Muay Thai goods like its neighbors, their (former) high prices have repelled most customers.
Things have changed and if you are looking for standard gear from Fairtex and Twins, you are unlikely to find better prices than at Kee La Pun.
Head on in and they will hand you a file with a price list of what’s in stock or you are welcome to walk around in the store. Compared to their neighbors (see Action Zone and Copa below), KLP makes for a more pleasant experience due to the bigger space although customer service is not as warm.
The selection is impressive with everything from gloves to shin guards to gym bags, heavy bags, kicking pads etc.
As they did not allow taking of photos of the price guide, I have tried to recall the prices from memory. As far as I know, prices go for around 30-40% off retail prices. Price guide below serves as a rough estimate but should be close enough.
As you can see, they are cheaper than any other stores down the list. No haggling here, prices are final but there’s really no need to ask for discounts. It’s as cheap as it gets here. If you are looking for top-quality gear at the best prices you can find, this is it.

How to get there: There are a few gear shops in this area possibly due to the presence of the National Stadium. To get to the shop, take the BTS to National Stadium station. Take exit 2 and head down the road with the stadium to your left.
Keep walking and you will see the huge Tesco on your right on the other side of the road. Keep going in the same direction and cross the street at the intersection where you will see a green building.
Opening Hours: Mon-Sat from 815am to 530pm (Closed on Sundays)
Action Zone
Action Zone is one of the most well-known Muay Thai gear shops in Bangkok. Its claim to fame is a friendly service and of course even friendlier prices. The shop is very modest-sized and cramped with Muay Thai gear stacked up on all sides of the walls and in the back of the store.
Here, you will find a good range of Fairtex and Twins gear, as well as their house brand. I highly recommend their house brand hand wraps which are cheap (180 baht after discount) and are very good quality.
Not the most attractive shop-front and rather cramped in the store. In fact, the whole store is in need of a fresh coat of paint. But the service and prices make up for it.
They may not stock everything from the Twins and Fairtex catalog but you can email them a month ahead of your visit and they should be able to get you sorted out. Shorts customization service is available and will take 2-3 weeks.

Copa Sport 
Located right next to Action Zone is another family-run mom and pop Muay Thai gear store. This is the place to be if you want to land yourself some old skool brand, Windy gloves and shin guards.
They also stock some Fairtex and Twins gear which are fairly priced. As I am personally not a Windy fan, I did not buy anything from the store but the granny and other staff here are absolutely lovely people who left me to browse and take pictures.
Windy gloves are cheaper than the bigger names and some folks that I met while training in Bangkok swear by them. If you like your gear old skool, simple and affordable, Windy can be your thing.

Opening Hours: Mon-Sat from 9am to 5pm and Sun from 10am to 4pm (Action Zone is closed on Sunday so you might want to visit on other days so as to visit all three shops).
SKS Empire 
A young brand and a very new shop. Founded and run by 2 enterprising brothers from France, SKS Empire seems to take a lot of their design influences from streetwear and hip hop culture. They are partnering with a number of promotions as well as fighters so you may have seen them on social media.
SKS stands for Sport Kombat Strategy but also an abbreviation for Singklongsi Muay Thai gym where the older brother (Romain) trained at for many years. Besides their own line of fight wear, they also offer custom services for fight wear from design to delivery. All handmade in Thailand. Definitely a must-visit. Check out their website to get a feel of their designs.
The brand has a few collections with different price range. I have included a price guide for their core collection.

How to get there: The shop is across the street from Action Zone/Copa and also opposite of Tesco.

FBT (Pathumwan Shop) 
FBT is sporting goods brand that has been around since 1952. FBT stands for “Football Thai” and the brand specializes in football-related equipment and apparel. At some point in the company’s history, they started venturing into Muay Thai goods, and the company has been an official equipment supplier for the IFMA since 2012.
This shop (not their flagship which is located in Bangkapi) is located down a junction, not far from Action Zone and SKS Empire. It’s worth making the brief trek to the shop, passing by a stretch of authentic, cheap and good Chinese food eateries.
It’s 3 levels of sporting goods at the complex with Muay Thai gear on the top floor. Prices are not that attractive, but there is a healthy selection of all things Muay Thai.
You can find the IFMA official Muay Thai shorts at the store as well. The quality seems decent but definitely not comparable to the other premium Thai labels.
Boxing gloves go for Wraps go for 200 THB, IFMA shorts at 399 THB and dye-sublimation shorts at 699-799 THB. There’s a small selection of gear from other brands like Fairtex, S1 and Everlast.

How to get there: To get to the shop, take the BTS to National Stadium station. Take exit 2 and head down the road with the stadium to your left. Keep walking and you will see the huge Tesco on your right on the other side of the road. Here, it is a left turn down the main road when you come to the junction of Tesco and another 400m (5-minute) walk.

Bull Sports 
Started in 2015, Bull Sports is another reseller shop in the National Stadium area. It has become a favorite gear shopping option among many foreign visitors in the last couple of years due to its friendly prices and overseas shipping service.
Goods here are at official retail prices with discounts of between 10-20% given, sometimes more for bulk purchases. I would say in terms of pricing, it’s on par with Action Zone. If you shop online, this is the store with the best prices. (remember to use coupon code “muaythaicitizen” to receive 10% off purchase)
Bull Sports stock the usual suspects of Fairtex, Twins Special, Top King as well as old-skool favorite, Windy. The store feels a bit cramped but there is a second level of stock, so there’s a good chance of finding something here that you are looking for.
They have a good online store and ships worldwide via express shipping. For bulk purchase, it is definitely worth considering. Overall, this is a store you can’t go wrong with.

How to get there: To get to the shop, take the BTS to National Stadium station. Take exit 2 and head down the road with the stadium to your left. Check the map below for directions. It’s about a 10-minute walk (1km) to the shop from the BTS station.

Twins Special (Suanluang Square)
Just around the corner from Bull Sports is this official Twins Special shop. If you are looking for a specific and unique gear/apparel model from this popular brand, then there’s a higher chance of finding it here than at the other reseller shops listed.
Prices are official retail prices and there are some sales now and then. Discount may or may not be given but you can always try asking like pretty much everywhere in Thailand. Customer service is okay, nothing to shout about.
The location is great compared to other Twins outlets (Lumpinee and Rajadamnern stadiums) and the stock availability makes this store a must-visit for fans of the brand.

Thai Battle
For those of you holidaying with family and short on time, this might be a good option. Thai Battle is a local brand who’s been around for a few years now but remains off the radar of most Muay Thai fans.
The shop is located in the family-friendly MBK Center which is a popular tourist spot and a very centralised location. They have been sponsoring MBK Fight Nights (an promotion that is held from time to time in front of MBK mall) and random events in Bangkok so I think they are more legit than your generic “Thai Boxing” brands in the same mall.
Thai Battle manufactures a whole range of Muay Thai products, seriously everything you need from gloves to shin guards to mongkhons, head guards and a good range of kids gear/apparel.
Prices are in-line with the big brands, I can’t vouch for the quality of their gloves but their shorts are pretty good quality. I recommend the Sukothai range of shorts where they use an ethnic Thai fabric for a very unique look.
Given that it’s in MBK, you might be able to bargain down the prices a little but don’t take my word for it. If they are firm on their prices, please respect that. I encountered friendly service and there’s a little manufacturing operations at the store where you could possibly get some custom work done on the spot.

How to get there: MBK is located right next to National Stadium BTS Skytrain station. Getting to the store is the tricky part. They are located on level 3 on the other end away from Tokyu department store. It’s a maze in that corner but you will find them along Zone 3D Soi 6.
Operating Hours: MBK is open 10am to 10pm daily. To be safe, plan on arriving after 12pm.
2) Sukhumvit Area
Sukhumvit is a great convenient location to be based in, with lots of shopping, accommodation and entertainment options. It is also home to a number of Muay Thai gyms like Yokkao, Elite Training Center, Muay Thai Academy and smaller joints peppered around the district.
Super Export Shop
If you only have time for one shop to get your Muay Thai gear, this is the shop to go to. Everything is reasonably priced and almost on-par with the National Stadium shops.
Super Export Shop, as the name suggests, does a lot of wholesale export business. They stock almost every made-in-Thailand gear from brands like Twins Special, Fairtex, Top King, Yokkao, Raja, Thaismai, Danger Equipment and even authentic items from the (Buakaw) Banchamek Fightgear.
The reason you should come here is because this really saves a lot of trouble from having to shop-hop, although it’s not necessarily the easiest place to get to. This is also the only store in Bangkok where you can get Booster Fight Gear, if you like the brand for whatever reason.
You can also get the popular Raja colorful shorts here at 600THB a pair instead of making the far trip out to the Raja factory.
Service is personable and friendly, and you are welcome to take your time to try out the gear and equipment. There’s also a clean toilet in the back you can use for trying out the apparel. The gear may be wrapped up in plastic but feel free to ask to open up for testing. First class service here.
They have sales from time to time with the good prices. If you are based around Sukhumvit area or variety is what you are looking for, this is a shop not to be missed.
Price Guide: There are many different brands and gear here with varying prices. Ask for discounts but they are given most of the time without asking. Look out for special promotions that change from time to time.

How to get there: I usually base myself around Sukhumvit area so this shop is just a few minutes by motorbike taxi. If you are going by the subway, the nearest station is Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) MRT station.
It is about ½ a mile (1 km) walk or alternatively, hop on a motorbike taxi and ask to be taken to “Rompo” which is a hotel located right beside the building where the shop reside. As of writing, motorbike taxi will cost around 30-50 baht from Asok/Phrom Pong BTS stations and 15-20 baht from QSNCC MRT station.
The shop sits on the ground level and faces the road so you should be able to spot it easily. While you are there, head down the road for an exquisitely Asian experience of the fascinating Khlong Toey Market.

Yokkao Shop 
The store size is small but stocks a very good selection of their training gear, including their popular CarbonFit shorts and the latest collections from the current season.
More importantly, the retail store is located in the same premise as the gym where Muay Thai legend, Saenchai, trains daily. (Read my review here: “Gym Review: Yokkao Training Center Bangkok”) So even if you don’t buy anything, you can drop by for a training session or just ogle at a Muay Thai master training.
You will also catch the other Yokkao fighters like Singdam, Manachai, and Yodchai.
You will find everything here discounted compared to their US/UK web store prices. Additionally, all gloves are priced the same regardless of their sizes/weights. Yokkao gear features very sharp and cool designs if that’s your thing.
This is the place to get some gloves and you can put them to use straight away for a training session -which was what I did.

How to get there: Take the BTS train to Asok station and then head for the Exchange Tower exit. You can either take a 5 minutes walk along the busy Soi 16 traffic or a speedy ride on one of the many motorbike taxis at near the entrance to Soi 16 to reach the gym. Just tell the rider to take you to “Yokkao” or “Muay Thai”. As of writing, the bike ride costs 10 baht (or 15). There are a few ways to get there and I’m familiar with the Asok route. Alternatively, you can take the subway to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center MRT station and change to a motorbike taxi.

Boon Sport
Boon is a brand founded by Australian Scott Marr and this store at On Nut (along Sukhumvit Soi 81) is where you can expect the whole Boon shebang. Everything they have is laid out systematically in the spacious shop so you will have no trouble looking for what you want.
They stock the standard Muay Thai goods such as gloves, shin guards, headgear, shorts and training gear as well. I’m quite fond of their t-shirt designs as the prints are very “Thai” but the fabric is not the most comfortable and it shrinks.
I highly recommend the plain black retro shorts which are cheap and good (400 baht). They offer shorts customization service and generally take around 2-3 weeks. However, if all you need is just a simple custom work with your name, they might be able to get it out within 2-3 days. Just check with any of the friendly staff manning the store.

How to get there: The best way to go is to take the skytrain to On Nut BTS station. When you arrive at the station, head to exit 4, you will see Tesco Lotus on your right but take the flight of steps on your left to the side of the road (down the overhead bridge) opposite of Tesco. As always, you can hop on a motorbike taxi ride and ask to be taken to “Boon” or “Muay Thai” which is a quick 2 minutes away. As of writing, the ride should cost you 20 baht. Otherwise it’s a 10-15 minutes walk.

Top King
This is the official Top King store in Bangkok and they are often not as well stocked one might hope. On 3 out of my last 4 visits, I had to walk away empty-handed. You are better off going to Super Export Shop (see above) which stocks more or less the same stock as the Top King store, and just a MRT stop away.
The service is minimal (but adequate) and the staff pretty much leave you to browse but they are happy to answer to questions. There is a good selection of TKB stuff for sale and the store is very accessible so it’s worth a visit if you are looking for Top King stuff. Shorts customization is available here but will take around 1 month.

How to get there: By subway, the nearest MRT station is Lumphini which is not far from Sukhumvit district. Take exit 1, turn right and head down the road with Lumpini Park View apartment on your right. It’s about 5 minutes walk till you hit an overhead bridge. After the bridge, make the first right at the alley and you should see the shop

3) Lumpinee & Rajadamnern Stadiums
Twins Special
If you happen to visit Lumpinee or Rajadamnern stadiums to watch some fights, you will find the official Twins Special stores at both locations. Very well-stocked with the largest collection of Twins Special gloves at both locations. Prices are fixed at the official retail prices.
You might be able to find them at lower prices elsewhere but you won’t always necessarily find the exact model or size you want. (Note: There is also a Top King store at Lumpinee stadium with the same prices as the original store at the old location)

How to get there: Lumpinee stadium is a pain to get to. It is located about 18km (about 11 miles) from the nearest train station (Mo Chit BTS or Chatuchak MRT), so the easiest way to get there is by taxi/car. Unfortunately, the fights start around 630pm which is at the peak of the mad Bangkok rush hour. The slow engine grind to the stadium takes between 1 to 2 hours but going back, the trip to train station is just 30 minutes or less. Tell the driver that you want to go to Lumphini Boxing Stadium at Ram Inthra road.
Going to Rajadamnern stadium is a lot more pleasant. It’s about 5km (3 miles) or less from the nearest train station (Phaya Thai) and takes 30 minutes drive even during peak hours.
Opening Hours: Stores are open whole day on fight nights. For Rajadamnern Stadium: Fight nights (Sun, Mon, Wed, Thu) from 10am to 10pm, Closed on Saturdays. For Lumpinee Stadium: Fight nights (Tue, Fri, Sat) from 10am to 10pm (Please check event timings before heading down)
Raja Boxing (Shop Permanently Closed)
As of 2020, the shop at Rajadamnern Stadium has closed. As far as I know, there are two locations where you can buy Raja Boxing products: 1) At Raja factory in Talingchan (see map below), 2) at Super Export Shop in Khlong Toei/Sukhumvit (See above).
Is it worth making the long ride to Talingchan? Probably not, unless you are making a bulk purchase to ship back home. If you are looking for the colorful Raja shorts, you are better off heading to Super Export Shop which is located downtown.

4) Fairtex Pro
There are so many Fairtex Pro shops in Bangkok that it warrants a section of its own.
Fairtex
I only visited 2 of the more centralised ones at IM Park and luxury mall, EmQuartier. There’s also a newly opened store at Central World (near Chitlom BTS) for those shopping in the area.
The IM Park outlet (located in the National Stadium area, see above) is a proper, bigger store front and stocks more items than the outlet at Q Stadium Zone within EmQuartier shopping mall. However, EmQuartier is a lot more accessible and has a very good selection of Fairtex gear to choose from.
The service is prompt at both locations and you should be able to find what you need at either stores although I have heard mixed reviews on its customer service.
Prices at the stores seem to be more expensive than Fairtex stockists like Kee La Pun, Bull Sports or Action Zone (See above) but the benefit of shopping here (especially at the malls like Emquartier or Mega Bangna or Asiatique) is a more convenient and comfortable experience.
If you are on a family trip, the rest of the family members can go about their shopping in the malls while you take your time to salivate over the extensive Fairtex product selection.

How to get there: To get to EmQuartier, simply take the skytrain to Phrom Phong BTS station which is located right at its door steps. The Q Stadium is located on in the Waterfall Quartier.
To get to IM Park, first take the skytrain to National Stadium. From there, it’s at least a 20-minute walk under the sun to the mall. I recommend the motorbike taxi as usual (take exit 2 from National BTS Stadium) which costs 30baht as of writing.

5) Around Bangkok
Thaismai
Thaismai is an old-timer that has been around since the 1960s. They remain an old-favorite with many gyms in Thailand and around the world. Designs are standard Thai style, with the odd standouts like the Powerpuff girls Muay Thai shorts and animal-print handwraps.
Quality is good, and the fact that they have been around for decades is a testament to that.
Prices are reasonable, and they don’t really do discounts but you can try haggling (just don’t quote me on that). Custom shorts take around 4 days and they ship overseas. Overall, really friendly service.
How to get there: The easiest way is by taxi or Grab car. Alternatively, take the free boat (starts around 445pm) from Saphan Taksin BTS to Asiatique. From there, it’s about 10 minutes to walk.

Where to Stay in Bangkok
Whenever I travel to Bangkok, I prefer to base myself in a more centralized and accessible location near to a BTS or MRT station, as the metro is the best way to get to around central Bangkok. This gives me easy access to most of the shops recommended above as well as a wider range of facilities and other conveniences.
If you are planning a trip to Bangkok but haven’t decided on your accommodation, there is one area I most highly recommend:
Asok-Sukhumvit Junction In my opinion, the Asok junction with Sukhumvit road is the best place to stay in Bangkok. It does not get any more accessible than this prime area. Four reasons to base yourself here:
1) With Sukhumvit MRT and Asok BTS stations in the vicinity, you can get to practically anywhere in central Bangkok easily.
2) Super Export Shop, Yokkao Shop and Emquartier are a short walk or motorbike-taxi ride away.
3) There are tonnes of massage places and eateries.
4) The whole stretch of Sukhumvit road is a shopper’s paradise and there are loads of activities you can busy yourself with here. If you are looking to eat, drink, shop and be merry, search no further. This is the place for you.
The area and the public transport offer easy access to several top Muay Thai gyms for the ultimate vacation to savour all of what Bangkok has to offer.
