If you are finding your MEATER is not connecting or is reporting low battery when you start up the app it could be an issue with charging or cleaning the MEATER probe itself that is the root cause of your problem.
Here are some simple steps you can take to make sure your MEATER is always in perfect condition and ready for use.

Charging
If your MEATER is not in use, it should always be placed in the charger. When storing your probe in the charger, place the probe in tip first with the ambient end towards the bottom of the charger. Make sure the probe is touching both charging contacts. These are located at the bottom, underneath the flat end, and halfway up the probe touching both sides. It will begin charging immediately. You can expect between 24 and 48 hours of battery life when the probe is fully charged.

Once the probe is in the charger you can check your chargers battery by pressing the black button on the front of your MEATER charger. If the green light above the button does not come on, replace the AAA battery.
If you have a MEATER Block you need to ensure that your Block is turned OFF in order to charge your probes. To test if your Block has power simply press the power button to turn the Block ON. Remember to turn it off again to charge your probes when you are done.
There is no indicator light to inform you that the probes are charging. They will charge passively whilst they are in the charger and stop when they are fully charged. It is safe to leave your MEATER probe in the charger indefinitely, and we recommend you always store them in the charger when not cooking or cleaning them.

For best results, make sure to clean the MEATER probe thoroughly after every use. If any food debris remains on the charging contacts, the MEATER may not charge properly and the battery will drain even when it is in the charger. Additionally, food debris on the ambient temperature sensor (the flat end) may disrupt signal so it is important to ensure this is clean before starting a cook.
The MEATER probe is water resistant, and we recommend washing it with hot water. However, it should not be submerged in water for a long period of time. Simply run it under a hot tap and scrub off any remaining dirt with a sponge and mild dish soap. We highly recommend scrubbing the flat ambient tip with an abrasive sponge to ensure it is totally clean. If you have been using your MEATER in a smoker, it may be necessary to scrub the ambient tip totally clean with sandpaper.
Before placing the MEATER probe back in the charger, rinse it with clean water and dry it with a cloth or paper towel.
