Because salt from sweat dehydrates the leather, breaking down the golf gloves at an alarming rate. That’s the reason why we never use our golf gloves to wipe sweat from our forehead, face, or arms.
Therefore, if you want your golf glove to last for a long time, please throw a microfiber towel in your bag for removing sweat in between rounds. Your gloves will last longer, as they are not designed to be drenched in sweat.
Whether you’re at a ball washing station or saving a ball from a water trap, you have better remove your golf glove first and perform the action with bare hand.
