How To Do Shield Gloves

The slogan of our company SHIELD Scientific, a manufacturer of nitrile and latex disposable gloves, is “Compliance, comfort and protection”. The protection of laboratory and cleanroom workers has always been a key priority, whilst ensuring that we strictly comply with the current regulations and standards and without neglecting the comfort of the users of our nitrile, neoprene/nitrile or latex gloves.

With this in mind, we created twinSHIELD™ technology which underpins all our SHIELDskin CHEM™ and SHIELDskin™ brand disposable gloves as well as our ecoSHIELD™ Eco Nitrile PF 250 laboratory nitrile glove, plus our ultra-clean shieldskin XTREME™ ORANGE NITRILE™ 300 DI nitrile/neoprene glove.

twinSHIELD technology ™ is based on a double dipping process used during the manufacture of disposable gloves and contributing to a double layer.

TWIN-COLORED NITRILE GLOVES

Each layer has a different colour:

  • A white inner layer: This white film, inside the disposable glove, is extremely soft for the skin and facilitates the donning of the nitrile glove. For users who practice double gloving, the donning of the over-glove is thus much easier.
  • A red, orange or green outer layer on the outside of the disposable glove: This coloured film allows us to identify the level of risk in the laboratory. This simple traffic light system (Green, Orange, Red) is used to easily and quickly identify the SHIELD Scientific disposable glove best suited to the risks present in the work environment. In a cleanroom environment, for example, the orange colour may make it possible to identify a specific work area for operators.

DOUBLE PROTECTION NITRILE GLOVES

Double-walled for double protection! All SHIELD Scientific synthetic disposable gloves with twinSHIELD™ technology have an AQL of 0.25 (in accordance with ISO 374-2:2019 and according to the sampling procedure ISO 2859-1:1999), which is amongst the most stringent requirements for acceptance of glove defects (pinholes).

In this way, we can offer more protection against chemical and biological risks because: The lower the AQL, the better your protection will be!

Finally, all our disposable gloves that are manufactured with twinSHIELD™ technology are registered as Category III Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) complying with Regulation (EU) 2016/425.

twinSHIELD™ double-walled technology, giving you even more comfort, protection and compliance!
