The written step-by-step video tutorial:

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Draw a big circle near the top of the paper as a guide for Mickey Mouse’s head. First draw four small marks for the height and width of the circle, then connect the marks using curved lines. Sketch lightly at first so that it’s easy to erase if you make a mistake. The circle doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide. If you’re struggling drawing the circle, trace the outer rim of a coin, a lid or any other object with a circular edge.

Step 2: Draw a curved horizontal line across the circle. This construction line will help you place Mickey Mouse’s facial features later. Add a curved vertical line that intersects the first line for another construction line.

Step 3: On the upper left side of the head, draw a smaller circle as a guide for the first ear. Draw it the same way as the head. Start with short marks, then connect the marks with curved lines. Make the circle a bit longer from top to bottom and more oval-like. Add another small circle on the top, right side of the head as a guide for Mickey Mouse’s other ear. Pay very close attention to the size of the ears in relation to the head.

Step 4: Using the four marks method, draw yet another circle below the head as a guide for the body. This circle should be a little to the right of the head. Draw it smaller than the head but bigger than Mickey’s ears.

Step 5: On the lower, left side of the body circle, draw a big oval for the fist. Mickey’s hands are big, so draw this oval almost as big as the body circle. Now draw an angled line from the head to the oval as a guide for the arm.
