Unlocking characters in fighting games are some of the most fun aspects of the genre, and with the new anime fighter Jump Force now available fans want to know how to get all 40 characters.
Luckily for them, it’s rather easy to gain access to the entire Jump Force roster both offline and online battles. But it’s another thing to unlock every character for the story mode.

Here’s how to unlock every character in Jump Force.
HOW TO UNLOCK ALL CHARACTERS IN JUMP FORCE
When you first start Jump Force you’ll be treated to the prologue of the story, which includes the origin of your character/avatar.

Once the cutscenes have completed, you’ll create your avatar and be sent to Umbral Base where the Jump Force convenes. Director Glover will explain that there are three teams in Jump Force and that you must choose one of them.
After speaking with Goku, Luffy and Naruto – the leaders of each team – you’ll select one of them and you’ll go through a tutorial. Finish the tutorials and you’ll gain access to the entire roster for offline and online battles.
HOW TO UNLOCK CHARACTERS IN THE STORY
While offline and online battles will have the entire 40-person roster, for story purposes you recruit fighters as you make your way through the Jump Force adventure.
Each team has three to four fighters already recruited, so on missions where you’ll have to select your team those characters will be available. However, as you gain new story missions you’ll recruit more and more fighters to use.

Most of the missions in the story of Jump Force select your team for you so not having the full roster from the beginning isn’t a big deal. The order you unlock characters is also up to the player as there will be multiple story missions to choose from at one time.
Just note that franchises with multiple characters will have you recruit the main protagonist of that series first before the others can be encountered. For example, Ichigo from Bleach will be the first one recruited before you’ll eventually run into Renji and Rukia.
