Winter may be a few months away, but it is never too early to be prepared, right?!?! With 4 kids in tow, we keep all winter gear together so that we are not searching for it when winter approaches. When searching “snowflakes” in Cricut Design Space recently, I discovered this adorable heart and snowflake image.

How cute for a girl, I thought!

And then my daughter looked over my shoulder and exclaimed, “I would love this image on my gloves!”

I definitely approve.

With the new Cricut EasyPress 2, quick and easy iron-on vinyl projects like these are a cinch.

If you have never attempted an iron-on project, this one is great for beginners. Check out my article on How to Get an Iron-on Project Right the FIRST Time to review tips on crafting with iron-on vinyl.

Winter Gloves with the Cricut EasyPress 2 Supplies:

  • Cricut machine – I’m using the Cricut Explore Air 2
  • Cricut StandardGrip cutting mat
  • Cricut EasyPress
  • Cricut EasyPress mat
  • Cricut Iron-on vinyl, your choice of color
  • Cricut weeding tool
  • Gloves
  • Scissors

Open up Cricut Design Space. Open a new project canvas.

Click on images. Locate the heart snowflake (or another Cricut snowflake image of your choosing). Or, to save time, use my ready Cricut project file here!

Place the image onto the canvas. Attach all the layers together to make them a single cutting layer. Resize the image to fit the surface area of the top of the glove. Measure the top of the glove if necessary to ensure size. Duplicate the image.

Send the images to the Cricut machine for cutting.

Place the Cricut Iron-on vinyl on the StandardGrip cutting mat, shiny liner side down. Be sure to mirror the image in Cricut Design Space prior to cutting.

Weed the negative (unneeded) vinyl from the designs.

Grab scissors and separate the two images.

Preheat the Cricut EasyPress 2 to 315.

Place one glove on the Cricut EasyPress 2 mat. Use the Cricut EasyPress 2 to preheat the glove for 5 seconds.

Place the snowflake image in the center of the glove. Make sure that the glove is facing the correct way so that the image is on top of the glove (and not the palm side).

Use the EasyPress 2 at 315 degrees for 30 seconds to adhere the image to the glove.

After the glove has cooled, remove the liner.

Repeat with the other glove for a matching set!

For more Cricut Iron-on vinyl glove ideas, try one of these:

  • Add a monogram to the top.
  • Divide a heart in two. Place one half on the palm of one hand and one half on the other so that they create a whole heart when brought together.
  • Place the words “right” and left” on the appropriate glove to help little ones learning left from right.

The Cricut EasyPress is such a handy crafting tool that Cricut developed a line of EasyPress products that will fit the needs of any crafter! The new Cricut EasyPress comes in a choice of 3 sizes: 6 x 7, 9 x 9, and 12 x 10.

The ceramic-coated heat plate provides professional iron-on results in 60 seconds or less. It comes with an insulated heat base to protect crafting surfaces when the EasyPress 2 is not in use. The temperature and time display are easy to read, and I like the new raspberry color. Firmware updates are made easy with an included USB port.

The Cricut EasyPress Mat is sold separately, and I think that it is a must-have for all EasyPress 2 users! The Cricut EasyPress 2 Mat protects crafting surfaces from the heat of the Cricut EasyPress 2 while allowing a firm surface for applying Cricut Iron-on vinyl.
