Glove Monsters

Ever wondered what to do with all those single gloves? Turn them into Glove Monster Softies! These are one of my FAVORITE crafts E.V.E.R.! No joke. These little glove monsters are so fun to make and they were a HIT with my boys! {as you can probably tell from the pictures!} My boys have had a blast playing with them. Which made for a super fun photo shoot.

If you’re like us, every winter, the Glove Thief comes and steals a glove or two…so we end up with a bunch of solo gloves. And the question of, “What to do with all these single gloves?” now has an answer….Make Glove Monster Softies! And if you don’t have any single gloves {lucky!}, you can snag these gloves for pennies this time of year. {wouldn’t they make ADORABLE handmade Valentines for kids??!}

How to Make Glove Monsters

Supplies:
- gloves
- batting
- sewing machine with a roller foot or walking foot attached
- needle/thread
- buttons, felt, etc for embellishing
Turn the glove inside out and sew a U-shape from the top of the thumb hole to the other side of the glove leaving a 1″ hole at the top. I used my sewing machine with a roller foot, but you could also hand stitch if you’re allergic to sewing machines. 😉
Turn the glove right side out.
Tuck the cuff inside.
Stuff with batting, making sure to get batting to the end of each of the 4 fingers. It takes only a couple handfuls of batting.
Hand stitch the 1″ hole shut.
Cut facial features out of felt and hand stitch felt, buttons, etc in place. {Do not use button embellishments for kids under 3 years old, if they came loose, they could present a choking hazard.}

We found that the 2 shorter fingers {pinky and pointer} make fabulous “monster arms” and if you pull the 2 middle fingers a little bit, they make great “monster legs”!

Give these cute little glove monsters to some cute kids you know and it will make their day! Aaaand, you’ll have a few less single gloves to worry about!
