DraftKings has unveiled a new VIP rewards program befitting its status as one of the world’s premier online gambling destinations.
Launched in November 2020, DraftKings Dynasty Rewards is a tiered, multi-faceted VIP system that unifies rewards across all DraftKings verticals, including sports, casino, daily fantasy, Pick6, and even the NFT Marketplace.

The new program still uses DK Crowns as its basis, but players now have even more ways to earn and redeem the virtual currency. In addition, players who climb the ranks earn a bevy of rewards, spanning exclusive promotions, enhanced Crown earn rates, more and better redemption options, and access to priority customer service and VIP hosts.
Read on to learn more about how Dynasty Rewards and DK Crowns work, along with some tips on how to maximize rewards.
DraftKings Dynasty Rewards Snapshot
- Registered DraftKings users are automatically enrolled in the Dynasty Rewards program
- Earn virtual currency (Crowns) and Tier Credits by wagering or spending real money on DraftKings
- Redeem Crowns for DK Dollars, contest entries, free credits, live experiences, and more
- Tier Credits determine a player’s annual Tier Status
- Program consists of five annual tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Onyx
- Higher DraftKings VIP tiers unlock increased Crown accrual, up to 40% extra, along with a slew of extras, including tiered promotions, gifts, and sweepstakes entries.
Dynasty Rewards is available in all markets where DraftKings is currently operational. However, the scope of the DraftKings VIP program varies by state, depending on the gaming verticals DraftKings is permitted to offer.
For instance, a New Jersey player is going to have more earning and redemption options than someone in a state where DraftKings only offers daily fantasy sports. That’s because DraftKings offers sports betting, daily fantasy, and online casino gambling in New Jersey but only DFS in some other states.
What Are Crowns On DraftKings?
Crowns are a virtual currency exclusive to DraftKings, and the basis on which Dynasty Rewards is structured.
They made their first appearance several years ago, back when DraftKings only offered daily fantasy contests. Crowns replaced the old FPP system and were later extended to other DraftKings gaming verticals, including casino gaming and sports.
However, it wasn’t until the advent of Dynasty Rewards that DraftKings provided more details on how players earn Crowns, how quickly they can be accrued, and what they can be exchanged for.
This level of transparency is a breath of fresh air, as Crowns were previously shrouded in mystery.
How To Earn DraftKings Crowns
After years of uncertainty, DraftKings has finally provided details on how customers accumulate Crowns. In short, players earn Crowns for (nearly) everything they do on DraftKings. Whether it’s participating in daily fantasy contests, placing sports wagers, making Pick6 predictions, playing slots, or buying NFTs, players receive Crowns.
Earn rates vary somewhat depending on how players are spending their time on DK, as illustrated in the table below:
Earning Crowns at DraftKings Sportsbook
DraftKings states that it awards Crowns for every action on the site. That’s mostly, but not entirely, true. Sports bets at odds of -1000 or shorter (e.g. -900 is OK, -1100 is not) and live dealer craps games do not award Crowns. It is believed these formats are excluded because they’re too low-risk.
Earning Crowns At DraftKings Casino
As this table shows, it’s apparent that games with a higher house edge award more Crowns than games where the house edge is razor-thin. For example, Blackjack and Video Poker only award 1 Crown for every $8 wagered, notably less than slots, which have a much higher house edge.
Earning Crowns at DraftKings Daily Fantasy & Marketplace
Earning Crowns at DraftKings Pick6
DraftKings Pick6 has the most straightforward Crowns earn rate of all: 1 Crown per dollar spent on predictions contests. For example, if a fan builds a Pick Set containing six predictions and decides to put $20 on the line, they will receive 20 Crowns.
How To Boost Crown Earnings
Players can help themselves by taking advantage of the various Crown boosts on DraftKings.
Daily Fantasy players can participate in Missions or complete Achievements to earn additional Crowns. Missions reset every 24 hours at midnight and award players for completing tasks. For example, a common Mission is to enter X amount of lineups and receive a prize.
Missions may award bonus bets, DK Dollars, or Crowns.
Achievements are like Missions, except they often require a stronger commitment. Simple Achievements might entail entering three NFL lineups on different days. The most tasking Achievements are given to the site’s true Ironmen. A recent example of an Ironman Achievement required players to play a $1+ NFL entry on 57 different days. The reward: a very appealing 5,000 Crowns.
The most exclusive Achievements can be found under the Reignmaker Achievements tab. These challenging tasks pay out massive rewards of up to 100,000 Crowns.
Finally, players can earn bonus Crowns simply by climbing the Dynasty Rewards loyalty tiers:
- Silver: 10% Crown boost
- Gold: 20% Crown boost
- Diamond: 30% Crown boost
- Onyx: 40% Crown boost
Boosts are based on the total number of Crowns earned the previous calendar month, and are awarded in one chunk on the 1st. For instance, if a player earned 50,000 Crowns during the month of April and holds Diamond status, he would receive 15,000 bonus Crowns on May 1st.

How Are Crowns Used On DraftKings?
Crowns have evolved significantly since their inception, and customers can now use them to make a variety of purchases.
DK Dollars

The primary way Crowns are exchanged is for DK Dollars, which are effectively bonus dollars. Players can use DK Dollars to gamble on just about anything DraftKings offers, including sports and casino games. In addition, customers can use Crowns to make purchases in the Marketplace. DK Dollars are subject to a 1x wagering requirement, making them nearly as valuable as their cash equivalent.
For instance, if players exchange their Crowns for 20 DK Dollars, their bonus will convert to withdrawable cash once they have placed $20 in total wagers. It doesn’t matter what games they wager on or how they allocate their bets.
Crowns convert to DK Dollars at a rate of 550 Crowns per $1 in bonuses. Why DraftKings chose that number is anyone’s guess, but that information allows us to calculate the Crowns cashback percentage on various types of games.
Note: The reason there’s a range of cashback % values is that players receive a Crown boost at higher VIP tiers.
These cashback rates aren’t exactly mind-blowing, but at least they’re on par with most retail casino slot clubs. Not to mention, DraftKings offers significantly better returns on video poker, blackjack, and slots compared to brick & mortar facilities.
Free Credits
Players can also redeem Crowns for Free Credits. These are fundamentally similar to DK Dollars but are tied to specific games. So, if Crowns are exchanged for DraftKings American Roulette Free Credits, they can only be used on that exact game and no other. Like DK Dollars, Free Credits are subject to a 1x turnover.
Truthfully, there’s no real benefit to redeeming Crowns for Free Credits. DK Dollars are far more flexible and the redemption rates are often better. The only slight advantage to Free Credits is that DraftKings will “count down” how many credits players have remaining, making it easy for them to know when they’ve cleared the bonus.
Players who exchange their Crowns for DK Dollars do not have that simple luxury. Instead, they’ll have to keep track of their wagers manually.
DraftKings Dynasty Store
Customers can also redeem Crowns in the Dynasty Store, which is available in every state DraftKings conducts business except Indiana.
The Store offers a massive array of purchasable items, ranging from hundreds of gift cards, appliances, watches, live experiences, and travel. It’s almost ludicrous how many items players can buy from the Dynasty Store. It’s not quite Amazon, but it’s a significant step above what any other online gaming company supports.
The travel section is particularly intriguing because packages purchased with Crowns are often priced materially cheaper than the public offer. Discounts range from just a few percent all the way up to 80%. In this respect, Crowns function very similarly to travel points earned through credit card purchases. Except instead of paying an annual fee, players have to play games with a house edge.
Customers who want to keep it a little closer to home can visit the Experiences section in the Dynasty Store for tickets to live events, with listings automatically tailored to players’ locations. For example, DraftKings customers in Wichita often see tickets for concerts at Intrust Bank Arena, while users in New York City receive offers for entry to events held at Madison Square Garden, tickets to NY Knicks games, and more.
Otherwise, Dynasty Store redemption rates are roughly 550 – 600 Crowns per $1, which is just a tick higher than the exchange rate for DK Dollars.
The exception is when certain items are marked down, and this occurs fairly frequently. In this instance, the discounted goods or services offer better value than DK Dollars but only for players who desire the on-sale items.
For example, DraftKings marked down a small refrigerator from 121,667 Crowns to 108,145 Crowns. The retail cost of the item is $219.00. At the old price, players could instead exchange the Crowns for $221.20 DK Dollars, a slightly better bang for the buck. However, at the discounted price, they’d only receive $196.60 DK Dollars. On a dollar-for-dollar basis, the discounted refrigerator is the better bargain.
DraftKings Dynasty Rewards Tiers
DraftKings has recently introduced Tier Credits, which are used to determine a player’s annual VIP status.
Dynasty Rewards spans five DraftKings VIP tiers, ranging from Bronze all the way up to Onyx.
- DraftKings Bronze Tier: All users begin here
- DraftKings Silver Tier: 5,000 Tier Credits
- DraftKings Gold Tier: 25,000 Tier Credits
- DraftKings Diamond Tier: 90,000 Tier Credits
- DraftKings Onyx Tier: 175,000 Tier Credits
One highlight of DraftKings Dynasty Rewards is that once a player unlocks a tier, they’ll not only retain it for the remainder of the calendar year but for the entire following year as well.
In this respect, Dynasty Rewards more closely resembles loyalty programs like Caesars Rewards, which spans both online and retail gaming. In contrast, most online-only VIP programs reset a player’s tier status every month or two.
Tier Credits are earned in exactly the same way as Crowns. Players accrue them by wagering on casino games, placing sports bets, entering DFS contests, and making purchases in the Marketplace.
However, Tier Credits are accrued at a different rate than Crowns. This may initially come across as confusing to bettors, who will see their Tier Credits and Crowns accumulate at different rates. A simple rule of thumb is that for every 5 Crowns bettors earn, they will earn 1 Tier Credit.
To achieve a specific DraftKings VIP tier, players will have to wager the following amounts in one year:
As illustrated, it’ll take a hefty effort to reach the program’s highest tiers, but considering that DraftKings offers a plethora of games with a house edge of 0.5% or less, it’s not as daunting as it seems.
Some users may notice that it takes more play to climb the Dynasty ranks, compared to the previous iteration of the system. There are two reasons for this:
- Tier Credit and Crown accrual rates for some gaming verticals have been slashed. For instance, players used to earn 5 Crowns/1 TC per $25 wagered on Blackjack, but now they’ll have to wager $40 to receive the same amounts.
- Crown and Tier Credits are now independent entities, meaning that monthly Crown boosts won’t apply to their Tier Status.

Most bettors will barely notice the difference, while others will be severely impacted. It really depends on the games you play, with table games, high-RTP slots, and video poker players taking the biggest hit. Parlay bettors actually have it better under the new program.
Ultimately, it’ll be up to players to decide if climbing the ladder is worth the financial commitment. To help with that decision, it’s useful to know exactly what kind of rewards players receive at each level.
DraftKings Dynasty VIP Rewards and Benefits
To no surprise, players who achieve higher loyalty tiers receive more exclusive benefits. DraftKings VIPs (Diamond or above) can really rack up notable value through exclusive promotions, Crown boosts, welcome bonuses, and other intangibles like invites to live experiences, tier-exclusive gifts, and sweepstakes entries.
DratKings Bronze Status
Bronze is the baseline DraftKings VIP tier, so players shouldn’t expect much in the way of extras.
Notably, Bronze members are permitted to redeem their Crowns for site credit, free play, and DFS contest entries, a luxury that some retail casinos withhold from entry-level players.
Beyond that, Bronze members have access to the Dynasty Store and can participate in regular promotions.
DraftKings Silver Status
At the Silver level, the rewards start to pick up. Members receive:
- A 10% monthly Crown accrual boost
- A small Weekly Prize Chest (500 Crowns guaranteed, up to 100,000)
- Tier-exclusive contests and promotions
The Weekly Prize Chest is a new addition to DraftKings Dynasty. The number of Crowns bettors receive each week is based on their current tier every Tuesday at 9 AM and random chance. All Silver members receive 500 Crowns guaranteed, but they have a chance to win more, up to 100,000.
Of course, scoring the top prize is going to require a lot of luck.
This isn’t a huge perk because 500 guaranteed Crowns are worth less than a dollar, but it adds up. And as players climb the loyalty tiers, they’ll receive more lucrative Prize Chests with higher floors and ceilings.
Weekly Prize Chests are allocated to player accounts every Wednesday at 3 PM and must be claimed before being applied to customer balances.
DraftKings Gold Status
To achieve Gold, players must accrue 5x as many points as they did to reach Silver. In exchange, they receive:
- A 20% monthly Crown accrual boost
- A moderate Weekly Prize Chest (2,000 Crowns guaranteed, up to 200,000)
- Better tier-exclusive contests and promotions
- Priority customer service
What do we mean by better contests and promotions? For example, DraftKings may decide to award Dynasty Rewards members with a reload bonus. At the Silver level, the bonus might be a 50% match up to $100. At Gold, the bonus will be more appealing, perhaps a 100% match up to $250.
DraftKings Diamond Status
Diamond members are considered VIPs and receive far better rewards than Gold members, including:
- A 30% monthly Crown accrual bonus
- A large Weekly Prize Chest (10,000 Crowns guaranteed, up to 1 million)
- High-level exclusive contests and promotions
- Six annual Signature Dynasty Sweepstakes entries (US only)
- Tier welcome gift
- Priority customer service, including a dedicated VIP host
- Access to exclusive Live Experiences and select VIP events
At the Diamond tier, the exclusive promotions are lucrative enough to temporarily flip the house edge in favor of the player. In addition, Diamond tier members can negotiate bonuses with their hosts, and are often invited to sporting events and premium dinners, among other in-person experiences.
Each month, DraftKings hosts sweepstakes for its VIP members. In the past, prizes have included luxury items such as bags, wallets, watches, and getaways valued at up to $25,000.
On the downside, generating 90,000 Tier Credits in a calendar year is a Herculean task. Achieving Diamond status requires nearly four times more play than Gold.
DraftKings Onyx Status
Onyx is the highest Dynasty Rewards tier, and the lucky few who achieve it will be lavished with a host of exclusive benefits.
- All Diamond benefits
- A 40% monthly Crown accrual bonus
- A massive Weekly Prize Chest (20,000 Crowns guaranteed, up to 5 million)
- Onyx Elite Reward
The amount of play needed to reach Onyx is daunting: 175,000 Tier Credits. However, the jump from Diamond to Onyx only requires players to nearly double their efforts. At lower tiers, players have to earn 4x – 5x the number of Crowns to reach the next level.
Also, keep in mind that Dynasty Rewards is an annual program, and statuses carry over to the next calendar year. This means that players who reach Onyx in January or February will enjoy their status for nearly two years, without having to commit an additional dime.
Onyx players gain access to the very best promotions that DraftKings has to offer. Many, if not all of them, provide players with the opportunity to play with an advantage. Examples include:
- Bet packages: Wager a certain amount within a specified time frame and receive a bonus, consisting of DK Dollars and bonus bets. Packages are often worth $5,000 or more.
- Reload bonuses: DraftKings offers Onyx members some of the largest reload bonuses of any online site. It’s not uncommon for players to score 100% matches up to $5,000+.
- Spot bonuses: Onyx members that have had a bad run will regularly receive unadvertised kickbacks. These might be in the form of cashback on net losses or DK Dollars.
In addition, Onyx members will regularly be invited to the very best live experiences, where they’ll have the chance to schmooze with celebrities, enjoy the finest dining, and go on premium vacations, all on DK’s dime.
Finally, there’s the Onyx Elite Reward. This premium reward is based on the number of Crowns an Onyx player has earned in the previous year:
- 1,000,000 – 1,999,999 Crowns: Deluxe Level (1 Credit)
- 2,000,000 – 4,999,999 Crowns: Premier Level (2 Credits)
- 5,000,000+ Crowns: Ultra Level (3 Credits)
DraftKings has clearly spared no expense with some of these prizes, which range from Apple product packages, custom jewelry design, and BMW driving school on the lower end, up to Super Bowl tickets, dirt bikes, and rare vintage Scotch at the Ultra level.
Onyx members are free to spend their credits on one or multiple gifts.
