What Did Angela Baldwin Do With A Horse

UPDATE: A federal appeals court has upheld the convictions of Angela Taylor Baldwin in a sordid, sexual abuse case that ensnared Jared Fogle. The decision by a three-member panel from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit was handed down Tuesday. Here is IndyStar’s story about her 2021 conviction, which resulted in a 33-year prison sentence.

A woman at the center of a pornography investigation that led to the conviction of former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle has been convicted on federal charges relating to the sexual exploitation of children.

Angela Baldwin, who also is identified in court records as Angela Taylor, was found guilty on the sexual exploitation charge and three related felonies following a trial last week in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

Baldwin is the ex-wife of Russell Taylor, who headed Fogle’s charitable foundation before he and Fogle were charged by federal authorities in 2015. All three criminal cases grew out of an investigation launched in 2014 after a woman notified police about Taylor’s disturbing offer to send her images of child pornography.

Fogle pleaded guilty to possession or distribution of child pornography and traveling across state lines to have commercial sex with a minor. He is serving a 15-year sentence at a prison facility in Colorado. His projected release date is March 24, 2029, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons online records.

Taylor also pleaded guilty in 2015 to 12 counts of producing and one count of distributing child pornography. He was sentenced to 27 years, but his conviction was overturned in 2020.

U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Walton Pratt — the same judge who sentenced Taylor five years earlier — found that his defense lawyer was ineffective because he failed to challenge three charges that were not supported by the legal facts of the case.

A new trial for Taylor, who remains in federal custody, was scheduled for July but postponed. Online court records do not list a new date for the trial.

Baldwin was indicted by a federal grand jury and charged in October 2020 with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of conspiracy to produce visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, and one count of possession of visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. She and Taylor were divorced in 2017.

The jury found Baldwin guilty of all four counts and she was taken into federal custody following the trial. No sentencing date has been set. She faces 15 to 30 years in prison on each of the first three charges, and up to 20 years on the fourth.

The charges involved secret video recordings of children made with cameras disguised as clocks, which were placed inside bedrooms and bathrooms in the home where she and Taylor lived on the westside of Indianapolis. According to court records, some of the underage victims were related to Baldwin and Taylor, either by blood or marriage, and others were friends of those children.

Court records allege Taylor, Baldwin and others were involved in a conspiracy “to produce child pornography to fulfill the deviant sexual desires of the members of the conspiracy.” The activities occurred from “at least 2012 through Mr. Taylor’s April 29, 2015, arrest,” federal prosecutors said.

Some of the images and videos were later shared with Fogle, according to court documents.

Federal investigators cited text messages between Taylor, his then-wife and Fogle in building the case against Baldwin. They included exchanges in which Taylor and Baldwin discussed setting up the cameras and providing drugs and alcohol to the juveniles. Taylor and Baldwin also discussed their sexual abuse of the children.

In one exchange from 2012, Baldwin chastises Taylor for hiding a video of him having sex with a girl who was under the age of 16. “As much as it pisses me off it turns me on even more,” Baldwin wrote, concluding her comment with two smiley face emojis.

In another exchange, Baldwin sent Taylor a video of her engaged in sexual activity with a minor female.

Court records also include an exchange between Taylor and Fogle in February 2013. The messages detailed the couple’s activities with another underage girl — and Fogle’s desire to also be with the girl.

In the exchange, Taylor bragged “Angie and I tag teamed her the other Nigt for 4 hours!!!” The message also included a photograph of what appeared to be a sexual encounter between Baldwin and the young girl.

Fogle responded with three texts in succession, asking when he could get an opportunity to be with the girl.

“When can we set it up?”

“Let’s set it up!!!!!!!!”

“I want to take her on a trip”

Taylor replied: “I will kabosh that buddy till 18” followed by a frowny face emoji.

“Sorry,” he told his boss, “but I guard your brand pretty damn hard.”

Instead, they discussed setting up a rendezvous between Fogle and the teenage girl at Taylor’s home.
