What Does Shinehorn Eat

Ark Shinehorn

The Microluminous Cerynitis is a goat-like herbivore that comes from an unknown time and has a passive temperament.

Probably one of the cutest things you will ever see, this creature may be adorable but it does have more than just its looks as it possesses the ability to use charge to create light in an area.

Shinehorn are pretty much defenseless against predators and will usually be killed when out in the open as they are small, slow and incapable of fighting back.

A survivor can safely approach the Shinehorn and feed it in order to gain its trust but any sign of threat such as attacking it by accident will cause it to run away.

Shinehorn provides survivors with charge light which also has the benefit of keeping Nameless and Reapers weakened when nearby.

Dossier

Dossier Summary

The Shinehorn is obviously of no threat and considered to be adorable and harmless to survivors, making it one of the easiest creatures to tame.

While not exactly the largest creature, the Shinehorn appears to be majestic in its own way, especially due to its elegant glow and beautiful appearance.

A Shinehorn is a great pet to have around, especially when it’s dark and you need a source of light but there is much more benefit to the charge light that it provides, making it a creature that can aid you and your tames in troubled times when facing Reapers and Nameless.

Abilities

1) Illuminate

Once activated, the Shinehorn will use its charge to create a bright light in an area that gives vision in the dark and weakens the Nameless and Reapers.

Activating this will consume Charge which will regenerate once it has been deactivated.

2) Detect Enemies/Max Level Creatures

Having a Shinehorn with you will allow it to alert you when there are enemies or high level wild creatures nearby.

A symbol at the bottom of your HUD will appear, glowing red to symbolize enemies or yellowish orange to symbolize high level wild creatures.

Uses

Charge Light Pet

Can illuminate areas, allowing survivors to have vision in the darkest of areas as well as help when fending off the Nameless and Reapers by weakening them.

Companion

The light alone is a great benefit when you are in the dark but the charge light effect on the Nameless and Reapers can save your life as well as your tames.

How to Tame Shinehorn?

A Shinehorn simply needs to be fed food in order to tame it (placed in your last item slot) until the taming bar is full.

Overview

Although there are similar creatures that possess the ability to use charge to illuminate areas but not all of those creatures can shine bright like the Shinehorn does.

Both benefits of a source of light as well as a counter to the creatures in Aberration make the Shinehorn a good starter pet for survivors regardless of their experience.

Nothing beats a nice cuddly strange goat creature holding on to you, probably for its life and missing out on owning one of these creatures could be regrettable sometime later on.
