It’s Fall again and this may be my favorite season of them all!

I love the changing colors of the leaves, the cooling temperatures, and the holidays!

There is almost no dish that screams Fall to me as much as Chicken Pot Pie.

Sure, I love a good stew like my Acorn Squash Stew – a warm and comforting Fall stew that’s great to eat with warm, crispy french bread.

And I am totally into watching Football while eating Spicy Buffalo Wings with a side of this delicious Wingstop Ranch Dipping Sauce.

But when I think of my Favorite Fall Dishes, my mind immediately conjures up an Easy & Cozy Belly-Warming Chicken Pot Pie!

Certainly, a nice Chicken Pot Pie can be a meal on it’s own, but in this post, I’m going to share my favorite Chicken Pot Pie side-dishes.

There Is A Lot To Love About Chicken Pot Pie

It’s so warm, cozy, and comforting!

A hot chicken pot pie fresh from the oven can make even the worst day seem a little better.

Steaming Hot Chicken Pot Pie on Plate with Chicken and Vegetables Oozing Out

I love the flaky crust on top and the way the steam rises once that delicious crust is broken.

The way the chunks of flavorful chicken and hearty vegetables come oozing out onto my plate is a work of culinary art.

And the hearty chicken and vegetables baked into my favorite chicken pot pie recipes provide a healthy dose of nutritious goodness to this slightly decadent main dish!

What To Serve With Chicken Pot Pie – Best Sides

Below we’ll dive into what I believe are the best side-dishes to serve with Chicken Pot Pie.

Please let me know what some of YOUR favorite sides are in the Comments Section below!

Mashed Potatoes

Whipped and Creamy Mashed Potatoes are my #1 Side Dish to Serve with Chicken Pot Pie

Perhaps the only pairing better than Baseball and Apple Pie is Chicken and Mashed Potatoes!

Mashed potatoes are my number-one side dish to serve with chicken pot pie and it’s not even close.

A nice heaping spoonful (or two) of warm, whipped mashed potatoes make the perfect accompaniment to Chicken Pot Pie.

Corn On The Cob

Corn On The Cob IS a Great Side Dish to Serve With Chicken Pot Pie

Probably my second-favorite chicken pot pie side dish is Corn-On-The-Cob!

I especially like to serve corn-on-the-cob if my chicken pot pie recipe doesn’t already include corn as one of the main vegetable ingredients.

Simply boil some corn cobs or half-cobs – if you prefer a smaller side-dish – with some boiling water and a bit of salt and you’ll have another can’t-miss side for your chicken pot pie!

Add a little butter and pepper (my favorite way to eat corn-on-the-cob) and you’re golden.

Potato Salad

If you like having a potato-side with your chicken pot pie, but don’t want steaming hot mashed potatoes like I suggested above, perhaps a nice, cold potato salad is more to your liking?

There are probably a hundred different ways to make potato salad, but – whichever way you prefer – this is certainly another great side-dish.

I especially love how a chilled potato salad has a cooling effect on the palette when paired with the steaming hot goodness of a warm chicken pot pie.

Asparagus

Even though most chicken pot pie recipes include vegetables baked into the crust itself, I personally don’t mind additional vegetables on the side.

One of my favorites is a nice grilled asparagus with a bit of salt, pepper, lemon juice and butter.

And if it’s too cold to grill outside, I just grill my asparagus on my handy, reversible stove-top grill and griddle – trust me, this thing is a game-changer!

Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet Potato Fries Rock Alongside Chicken Pot Pie!

As we discussed above, potato-based foods pair well with chicken pot pie.

Everything from mashed potatoes, to potato salad can make a nice side-dish.

Another side-dish that fits the bill is sweet potato fries.

Sweet potato fries taste incredible and are one of my top side-dishes for chili, as well as chicken pot pie and almost everything in-between!

Acorn Squash Stew

Spicy Acorn Squash Stew

The flavor of a nice, slightly spicy Acorn Squash Stew, can give your chicken pot pie a nice side-kick for Fall!

There are a number of soups and stews that I think go well with chicken pot pie.

For instance, split-pea soup makes a great soup accompaniment and a Vegetable Rice Soup also pairs well.

But, my favorite ‘soup’ side-dish to serve with chicken pot pie is this Acorn Squash Stew – it’s warm and slightly spicy and extremely flavorful.

You can’t go wrong with this stew and I think your guests will appreciate it, as well!

Fresh Garden Salad

Fresh Garden Salad Makes A Great Side-Dish!

A fresh garden salad is an excellent early-course chicken pot pie side dish.

A nice salad made up of fresh greens and raw vegetables is the perfect palette-cleanser to have before indulging in a nice, warm chicken pot pie!

Check out this amazing and Exotic Orange Mango Vinaigrette – it is the perfect dressing to use on a fresh garden salad!

Wild Rice

Wild rice makes the perfect side-dish to serve with chicken pot pie.

I mean, who doesn’t love chicken & rice – Amirite??

I prefer wild rice with a mix of white, yellow, red and brown rice like this perennial favorite from Rice Select.

In fact, I love the Rice Select brand so much, I even used their Dried Orzo for my One Pot Sun-Dried Tomato Orzo Recipe.

Their canisters can also be re-purposed into excellent cookie jars or dried pet food dispensers – I love dual use items!

Cheesy Garlic Biscuits

Some nice cheesy garlic biscuits go so well with chicken pot pie that my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

While cool sides, such as chilled potato salad and a crisp garden salad pair nicely with chicken pot pie, sometimes I just LOVE a nice, moist, warm cheesy garlic biscuit.

I like to sop up some of the ‘gravy’ that comes oozing out of my pot pie when I first cut into it with a nice, warm biscuit.

I must admit, I love the cheesy garlic biscuits they serve at the Red Lobster.

If you want to make these at home, I highly recommend this Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix – simply crush some fresh garlic cloves and heat them up with a bit of olive oil.

Add this garlic liquid to the biscuit mix before you bake your biscuits in the oven and you’ll have one of the most awesome chicken pot pie side dishes I can think of!

Oftentimes, biscuits are the ONLY side I’ll serve with chicken pot pie.

And many times that’s enough!

Brussels Sprouts

Another Can’t Miss Veggie Side-Dish (hey, that rhymes!) is brussels sprouts.

Perhaps the main nemesis of veggie-hating kids throughout the world (and even many adults), brussels sprouts can be GOOD!

I like to grill fresh brussels sprouts, lightly, using my reversible stove-top grill and griddle and serve them with some light sea salt and pepper.

Another great way to eat grilled brussels sprouts is to use Old Bay Seasoning instead of salt and pepper.

The Old Bay gives them a nice flavor that is quite addictive.

How To Serve Chicken Pot Pie

Probably my favorite way to serve chicken pot pie is by using these super-cute single-serving ramekins that are ideal for serving each of your guests their individual pot-pies.

Example of Chicken Pot Pie Served in Single-Serving Ramekin

Simply bake each individual-serving chicken pot pie in their own ramekin and serve one to each of your guests.

Each of your guests will love having their own, individual chicken pot pies to enjoy with whatever of these sides you decide to serve!
