A good bowl of lentil goodness is hearty, wholesome, and super tasty. It’s also budget friendly, and it’s one of my favourite soups that’s suitable for practically every occasion.

Whether you want a quick bite to eat at your desk, or something special for friends at a dinner party, lentil soup understands the assignment.

But when it comes to side dishes, what are the most fitting choices here?

We’re not talking about any old sandwich here though. We’re talking about the Bombay grilled sandwich.

It’s a street food staple and it’s made with tomato, cucumber, potato, onion, cheese, and chat masala. It’s crisp, melty, moderately spicy, and begs to be dipped.

It’s undoubtedly one of the greatest sarnies of all time, and the Indian flavours just work beautifully with lentil soup.

Steak kebabs always remind me of sunny holidays in hot countries, and barbecues enjoyed at the beach with a few beers and plenty of good conversation.
