The recovery planning is probably not high on your agenda when you are busy managing your wedding. So here are some pointers to take on board to make the process a lot easier. A wedding recovery does not have to be an extravagant affair, in fact, it can be quite the opposite.

How Do You Plan a Wedding Recovery?

Step 1:

Be organised and plan the recovery well in advance. You will want this day to just roll out with ease.

Step 2:

Make it incredibly easy. The less you have to think about, the better. Perhaps you could simply hire a venue that manages the recovery for you.

Step 3:

Ask one of your friends or family to help manage this event and to be the prime contact for the vendors/venue in case they need someone to speak to while you are busy with your wedding preparation.

Step 4:

Do not over think it. Everyone attending your recovery will be backing it up from the day before, so all they will want is something to eat, drink and a place to unwind.

Plan the recovery according to what day it is – for example if it lands on a Sunday you may simply offer a breakfast bbq & coffee van as people will need to get home to prepare for the week ahead. However, if it is a Saturday you may like to look at the event as a party. Go to a venue that serves nice drinks, cocktails, hire a DJ and serve some yummy food. Dance the day/night away!

Will this event be kid friendly? If so, you will need to be mindful of choosing an appropriate venue/location.

• Work out the format – what type of recovery would you like to hold.
