Thank you very much for your help with this matter. I was able to resolve this issue directly with Wakefields and associates. Eventually, after much time and research on my part, I was able to confirm there was a medical bill that my insurance didnt cover. It somehow slipped through the cracks, and landed with Wakefield and associates. I have paid the debt in full.
I still feel that their collection practices are very unprofessional and poor. I have no record of any communication from them via standard US mail. I randomly answered an unknown call on a Saturday afternoon that I was in ******* shopping. The individual from Wakefield Associates was incredibly pushy and demanding about getting payment on the account right then and there. I explained I have no idea what he was talking about and needed additional information. he was very shady and did not provide me with much information at all. He said the client was Sapientes LLC.

that is obviously a third-party company that they do business with. Its not the direct medical company that I owed the bill to. Therefore, I had no idea who they were talking about. He offered me no other other information while we were on the phone.
right after hanging up, I googled Wakefield and associates and sapience LLC. Both companies had a lot of feedback on ****** that made it sound as if they were fraudulent. I called the one 800 number for Wakefield and associates and gave the person who answered my information. I was told at that time there was no file with them in my name. I felt as if the matter was resolved. A couple days later I got alerts from my credit monitoring app, that indeed they had submitted to collections.

I feel the whole thing couldve been resolved in their initial phone call at the individual divulged all of the relevant information. I know that he couldve done that, because on subsequent phone calls, they provided me with every bit of information I needed to verify the account was valid.
I firmly believe that they should receive some notifications of their collection practices on the phone.
