We’ve been living in New York City – including Manhattan and Brooklyn – for over ten years and have found March to be a pretty cold month overall.

Sometimes it even snows in March. This guide will help you figure out what to pack on your trip to the Big Apple so you can focus on having fun and seeing all the attractions.

Weather

March is a chilly month in New York City, with the earlier part of the month being colder than later in the month when the springtime temperatures begin to appear. It’s best to wear layers for your trip so you can stay warm on cold days and take off layers when it warms up.

• Early March: 46°F (8°C)
• Mid-March: 50°F (10°C)
• Late March: 55°F (13°C)
