I’ve really been loving trousers lately, I love my jeans, but I find trousers to be way more comfortable at work. These rust-colored paper bag waist trousers are perfect for the office because they look professional, but still have an elastic waist (yes, please). I’ve really trying to get the most cost per wear on my new fall items and pushing myself to style things in multiple ways, so let’s start with styling the rust-colored pants two ways, one look for the office and one look for play!

Styling Rust Colored Pants Two Ways
For the office, I grabbed a plaid blazer (which everyone should have in their closet, several linked above) and a white tee. The professional structure of the blazer and trousers really compliment the white t-shirt well.

I tucked in the shirt to avoid bulkiness and to show off the waist detailing of the pants. I prefer my trousers to hit right above my ankle bone and these are the perfect length. I opted for my leather loafers to really keep with that warm color palette. It’s comfortable and still very professional.
I wear my glasses at work so, of course, I threw those on to really get a full picture of the look.
For the casual look, I swapped my work shoes for some slip-on sneakers. This instantly makes things more casual. If I was in a hurry I’d just take off the blazer and keep the t-shirt and you’d be good to go.
In this case, I swapped my top for a cream sweater vest which are all the rage right now. I front tucked it because it could look boxy and bulky with two items that have a lot of fabric. The front tuck again shows the detailing of the pants but also flatters the figure.

I pulled my hair out of my face and added a few layered necklaces to add some extra detail.
My Barrington St Anne tote is a go-to for me, so I love how it really pulls the look together and adds a pop of navy.
