Netflix’s Wednesday series sees the titular Addams forced to enroll at Nevermore Academy, an ominous school for outcasts and mythical creatures.

On her first day, Wednesday is given a tour of the school by her new roommate Enid who introduces her to the four main cliques that inhabit Nevermore which include fangs (vampires), furs (werewolves), scales (sirens) and stoners (gorgons).
However, several characters, including Wednesday, don’t fit into any of these groups which has left many wondering what kind of mythical monster Wednesday Addams actually is.

Wednesday’s powers and abilities
From the opening episode of Wednesday, it’s clear that Jenna Ortega’s character is no ordinary person.
She has the ability to experience visions of a person’s past or future just by touching them, which helps in her investigation of the killing spree that has been plaguing the nearby town of Jericho.

On top of that, Wednesday is shown to possess a genius-level intellect which she puts to use by fixing troublesome pieces of equipment and devising a strategy to win the Poe Cup race.
Wednesday also dedicates her time to writing a novel and is also a highly proficient player of the cello, serenading Nevermore from her rooftop balcony.
Despite only being small in stature, Wednesday is not someone to trifle with as she is also skilled at fencing and martial arts, through which she also displays an impressive acrobatic skillset.
And finally, Wednesday is fluent in several languages, notably Spanish and German while she can also read and understand Latin and Italian.
What type of monster is Wednesday Addams?
Wednesday Addams is not a monster at all as she’s actually a human, albeit one who is a little bit weird and quirky.
While she may not fall into one of Nevermore’s main cliques or social groups, she is classed as a Psychic, a person whose mind possesses supernatural abilities.
Wednesday earns this classification due to experiencing visions when she touches certain people and she is shown a crucial moment from their past or future.

In episode 5, Wednesday’s mother Morticia helps to shine some light on her daughter’s abilities. Both of them are Psychics who experience visions but the type of visions they experience are dependent on their place on ‘the spectrum of who we are.’
As Morticia claims to have a more positive disposition, she is a Dove. While Wednesday, who sees the world through a darker lens, is a Raven whose visions are more potent and powerful and require training to control.
Other Psychics in Wednesday
Wednesday and Morticia are not the only Psychics we meet in Wednesday.
Throughout the series, Wednesday crosses paths with the likes of Xavier, Rowan and Eugene who all possess slightly different Psychic abilities.
Like Wednesday, Xavier also experiences visions but he can transform them into pieces of artwork that he can subsequently bring to life.
Rowan, meanwhile, has the ability to move and manipulate objects with his mind, and lastly, Eugene has an affinity with bees and can control them to do his bidding.
