It’s true that Martha’s Vineyard moves at a much faster pace in the warmer months, but there’s still so much to do during the quieter season, and that includes dining at our delicious local Martha’s Vineyard restaurants.

With many reasons to visit all year long, the Island’s fabulous year-round restaurants are at the top of the list! Come enjoy the scrumptious food and drinks offered at these great restaurants, listed here by town, in no particular order.

Vineyard Haven

Copper Anchor: Once an Asian fusion restaurant, now a combination of a seafood house and sushi bar, Copper Anchor brings the two delicious menus of Copper Wok and MV Chowder Company to Main Street! The new menu at Copper Anchor features their famous Martha’s Vineyard Clam Chowder, Sea Smoke BBQ Chicken Skewers, and a variety of Asian fusion dishes.

Black Dog Tavern: An Island classic. Warm up by the fire and enjoy harbor views at one of the Vineyard’s oldest restaurants. Their clam chowder, served in a mug, is a delicious favorite, and if you’re visiting for breakfast the pancakes are not-to-be-missed.

Black Dog Water Street Bakery: If you’re wanting breakfast or lunch on-the-go, Black Dog Water Street Bakery is a perfect stop. Their cozy atmosphere and signature lattes, such as the West Chop, are sure to warm you up! Don’t miss out on the bakery here – everything is fantastic, and you can even grab an adorable fresh baked treat for your pup!

Little House Café: A favorite among Islanders, this little eatery is big on flavor. Plus, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their homemade Pork Pappardelle is a perfect dish for the off-season. Not into meat? No problem! There are lots of delicious vegetarian options.

Mocha Mott’s: An Island staple, Mocha Mott’s serves organic, fair trade coffee & espresso drinks, homemade baked goods, and Cape Cod bagels. In the chillier months, you can also find delicious homemade soups and specials. Take a seat at one of their booths and warm up with a fresh hot cup of coffee.

La Choza: Sometimes, a little space can go a long way – and La Choza on the corner of Main Street does not disappoint! Treat yourself to a burrito or bowl with beef, chicken, chorizo, pulled pork, or their vegan chorizo with a handful of fun toppings and sauces.

Island Fresh Pizza: Got an appetite? Island Fresh Pizza serves up huge portions when it comes to their pizza, subs, paninis, and calzones. Their Steak and Cheese Bomb is equally as delicious as it is massive!

Life at Humphrey’s: Some restaurants come with a story, and Life at Humphrey’s happens to come with a love story! This restaurant is the result of two beloved Island restaurants that needed each other to lift themselves and the Island community up; Humphrey’s Bakery and Slice of Life Cafe (formerly in Oak Bluffs). Stop by for a delicious breakfast accompanied by their fresh giant “Homer” donuts, and make sure to check their Facebook for their tasty weekly specials.

Wolf’s Den Pizzeria: On Friday nights, there’s nothing better than a pizza shop that’s open late. Wolf’s Den on Beach Road pulls through, with very tasty pizza, calzones, and a range of starters and sandwiches. Their reward-winning crust will have you coming back for more before you know it!

Waterside Market: Do you like to dine outside, even on chilly days? If so, Waterside Market is the spot for you! Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this community hub on Main Street has a large front porch equipped with outdoor heaters to keep you warm and cozy throughout your meal. During the colder months, they offer a handful of soup specials to choose from, alongside their famous sandwiches, salads, coffees, and prepared foods to take on the go!

Mikado Asian Bistro: Asian-fusion at its finest! Their ramen dishes will warm you up on a chilly winter’s day. And if you’re in the mood for sushi, Mikado offers dozens of creative rolls for vegetarians and fish-lovers alike.

Nat’s Nook: Breakfast doesn’t have to be boring, and Nat’s Nook proves it! Found on Main Street, The Nook specializes in sweet and savory crepes as well as coffee, espresso, and tea. Their Lemon Blossom Sweet Crepe is a classic among locals, but there are so many tasty options to satisfy your cravings. They even offer gluten free crepes and sandwiches!

Porto Pizza: Stay in and cozy up – Porto Pizza delivers! Their sauces and crusts are homemade, and when combined make an unbeatable flavor. If you happen to be passing by their shop right across from the ferry, you can even get yourself a slice at an affordable price!

Scottish Bakehouse: Loved by Islanders and visitors alike, Scottish Bakehouse is a staple for anyone on-the-go! This year-round cafe and bakery offers signature egg sandwiches, fresh baked pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups and locally sourced main dishes.

Salvatore’s Ristorante Italiano: If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a romantic dinner for two, Salvatore’s Ristorante Italiano is an ideal spot. Owned and operated by beloved Island chef Salvatore della Torre, the restaurant features an authentic Italian menu with fresh, homemade pastas that are sure to make your mouth water.

Woodland Variety & Grill: If you’re in the mood for a classic breakfast or lunch, it’s worth making the trip to Woodland Variety & Grill. Their simple breakfast dishes hit the spot on early weekday mornings, and their specialty sandwiches make a great filling lunch in the middle of a long day!

The Net Result: Get some of the freshest seafood the Island has to offer, whether you’re taking it home to cook yourself, or getting delicious takeout. The Net Result is considered an upper-scale fish market and won ‘best fish market’ on Martha’s Vineyard! Their to-go menu is full of goodies like steamed lobsters, tacos, and sushi rolls.

Bobby B’s: If only there was a place on Martha’s Vineyard that served fried seafood and authentic Italian-style pizza. . . oh wait, that’s Bobby B’s! Stop by their shop on Main Street and grab a slice and a seafood platter – or snuggle up at home and place an order for delivery!

Delicious MV Bakery: Just next door to Bobby B’s sits Delicious MV Bakery, a year-round bakery which serves fresh, locally made cakes, breads, and pastries. They offer a range of authentic French breads, extra-rich handmade ice cream, and some extremely delicious desserts that will not disappoint. Stop by to see what they have in stock, pre-order your favorite treats in advance, or order online and get it delivered to your home!.

Golden Bull Steakhouse: Prime Grade Steaks, fun cocktails, and an exciting atmosphere can be found in the heart of Vineyard Haven at Golden Bull Steakhouse. They take steak seriously, and their all-you-can-eat Rodizio is worth making the trip for!

Sweet Bites: Just steps away from the ferry, Sweet Bites is a must-stop! It’s hard to miss this bright pink cafe on Beach Street. Their beloved Brigadeiro is just one of many sweet offerings by this family-owned cafe. And if you’re more in the mood for savory, their Cheese Bread is equally loved by many locals and visitors!

Rocco’s Pizzeria: Found at the Tisbury Marketplace, Rocco’s Pizzeria serves up NYC inspired thin crust pizza, with options to buy by the slice (and they are massive slices).

Nina’s Brazilian Dine N Dash: This food truck found at 61 Beach Road is one of the newest additions to the Island this season! Enjoy quick Brazilian cuisine with a similar menu to that of Nina’s at the Ritz in Oak Bluffs. The food truck’s location is perfect for stopping by on a lunch break, and is just a few steps away from some beautiful ocean views.

Oak Bluffs

Winston’s Kitchen: When on Martha’s Vineyard, eat as the locals do and stop by Winston’s Kitchen on the Oak Bluffs Harbor. This family owned and operated restaurant serves generous portions of home-style food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the chillier months, their Jerk Chicken dishes are sure to warm you up!

Sharky’s Cantina: Nothing says hot, hot, hot like some tasty tex-mex in the middle of the winter. Plus, you’ll forget the chilly weather after one of their perfect margaritas. Come hungry — their portions are large!

Offshore Ale Co.: Good food and good beer — what more do you need? How about a toasty atmosphere with a fireplace and an open kitchen? Try their truffle oil pizza for a flavor experience your mouth won’t soon forget.

Bangkok Thai Cuisine: Looking for some exotic flavors? Bangkok Thai Cuisine has got you covered! From pad thai to coconut curry dishes, you’ll want to order everything.

Deon’s Restaurant: Chef Deon cooks up delicious meals at the local VFW and it’s been deemed Oak Bluffs “best kept secret.” Sure, the atmosphere is modest, but the food is anything but boring. Try out this hidden gem for some seriously good food.

Barn Bowl & Bistro: Great food and family fun all packed into one – there is only one spot on Martha’s Vineyard that the public can enjoy bowling, and it’s at Barn Bowl & Bistro! Reserve a lane for the whole family and enjoy their mouthwatering Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza, or their delicious Fried Chicken Dinner alongside craft beer and creative cocktails.

Dos Mas: Tacos aren’t just for Tuesdays, and Dos Mas serves up some of the best! This family owned and operated restaurant offers a cozy and carefree atmosphere in the heart of Oak Bluffs. Their menu features traditional tacos such as beef, short rib, chicken, and fish, alongside a more fun vegetarian variety such as falafel, curry cauliflower, and eggplant tacos. Better yet, every tortilla is made fresh, in house, moments before eating!

Juice by the Sea: If you’re on the hunt for fresh squeezed juices or smoothies boosted with adaptogens, Juice by the Sea is right up your alley. Their drinks are not only super tasty, but they’re also healthy (and completely vegan)! But the fun doesn’t stop there, they also offer vegan comfort food specials throughout the season, such as warm soups made with seasonal ingredients to warm you up on the chilliest winter days.

Linda Jean’s Restaurant: An Island staple, Linda Jean’s Restaurant has provided great food at reasonable prices in Oak Bluffs for over 40 years. As of 2023 the restaurant is now being operated by the owners of Winston’s Kitchen and we can’t wait to see what is in store for the next chapter of this beloved establishment!

MV Chowder Company: Voted best chowder for multiple years, the winter is the perfect time to enjoy a hearty bowl! But don’t stop there: All the food is great — especially their risotto balls, and their hummus and falafel plate.

Mo’s Lunch: Located at the Portuguese American Club, Mo’s Lunch has quickly become a favorite for both locals and visitors. They specialize in delicious sandwiches which come in huge portions – at an affordable price. Their heaping Italian Sandwich and their Leo Burger are fan favorites, but really you could order anything on the menu and be absolutely satisfied. Vegetarians welcome – they offer a Veggie Italian sandwich and a scrumptious Cauliflower Melt!

The Sweet Life Cafe: Equipped with an ever-changing farm-to-table menu, The Sweet Life Cafe offers a cozy yet modern atmosphere in the heart of Oak Bluffs. Join them for dinner or brunch and be treated to some of the Island’s freshest ingredients, from locally sourced mushrooms to seafood straight from local fishermen! Their cocktail list is meant to reflect the flavors and mood of each season and the wine list is sourced from small vineyards the world over where you can find something familiar or surprising, depending on the occasion.

The Food Truck: Typically located outside the MV Ice Arena across from the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, The Food Truck offers a variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and specials Monday through Friday. Make sure to check out their Facebook for their rotating daily specials!

Tony’s Market: Since 1877, Tony’s Market has been a tried and true staple in Oak Bluffs. They’re known for their huge sandwiches, excellent wines, and a wide selection of ice cold beers at great prices. Create your own sandwich or give their signature Tony’s Breakfast Wrap a try!

Bombay Indian Cuisine: There’s a new Indian restaurant in town! Located at what was formerly Seasmoke on Oakland Ave, Bombay Indian Cuisine serves up authentic Indian fare every day. Their Lemon Ginger Lobster Rangoons are a fan favorite!

Nina’s at The Ritz: Food is back at The Ritz, and this lovely addition of authentic Brazilian cuisine is a fantastic change of scenery for the historic dive bar. Serving food from 5pm to 11pm Tuesdays through Saturdays, Nina’s offers some very tasty treats such as their Brazilian style croquettes, churros, sandwiches, and more!

Edgartown

Atria: A classy restaurant upstairs, but a “down home” eatery in their brick-walled basement. Join them on Sunday for their amazing burger night downstairs. Meat-lovers and vegetarians unite with selections for everyone: Mary’s Little Lamb is one of the best lamb burgers on the planet, and The PETA burger is a delicious animal-friendly choice.

Edgartown Meat & Fish: It’s not everywhere that you can find a Starbucks that also happens to serve bagels, sandwiches, delicious ready-to-go sushi, while also being a meat and fish market and grocery store combination – but Edgartown Meat & Fish has it all, and so much more! Proudly serving Starbucks coffee (even fan favorites like the famous Pink Drink), this market is a must-stop for both locals and visitors.

Edgartown Pizza: This local staple serves up traditional pizza, by the slice and whole pies made to order, conveniently located at the Edgartown Triangle. You can count on them to be serving lunch and dinner daily, plus wine and beer.

The Wharf Pub & Restaurant: This Edgartown classic serves up large portions at fair prices, with no pretense. It’s perfect for that casual night out. Try their chowder fries (yes, fries topped with chowder!), any of their salads are large enough for dinner, and their linguine and clams is one of the best on-Island!

Town MV Bar & Grill: Known as one of the funnest bars in Edgartown, Town Bar & Grill offers a playful atmosphere with a delicious menu filled with comfort classics, sushi, draft beer, and craft cocktails. Their Braised Short Rib is a fan favorite, and their new Tuscan Pasta is a perfect addition to the menu for chilly nights. Sit back and relax at the bar or enjoy a cozy night by the fire this winter – either way, at Town, you’re always home.

Rockfish: From incredible tapas-style foods — Harissa Grilled Chicken Thighs & Couscous; Fried Artichokes with Lemon-Aioli; Potato Bravas (the list goes on and on!); to wood-fired flatbread pizzas like Baby Clam, Chorizo, and Garlic; to fabulous larger plates (including the best paella you might ever have); to the generous pours of wine, you’ll leave Rockfish with a very happy belly. But before you do, end the night with wood-fired S’mores!

Alchemy: Elegance and charm – that’s what you’ll find upon entering Alchemy. Found on Main Street, this atmospheric eaterie finds inspiration from the vibrant cultures and culinary styles of Italy, France, and Spain. They offer an extensive and diverse wine list, and have won Best Cocktails on the Island for quite a few years!

China House Restaurant: Do you like large portions of authentic Chinese cuisine? If so, China House has got you covered. Their heaping dishes are made fresh, and you can get it quick! Stop by from 11am – 2:30pm for their lunch special, they offer so many delicious options at a great deal.

Bettini: Dinner with a view is taken very seriously at Bettini. If you’re not soaking up the breathtaking views of the water or the picturesque Edgartown Harbor Light, then you’re admiring the swank atmosphere within the restaurant itself. Equipped with a full bar and intimate booths and tables, this restaurant is worth dressing up for. The portions may be on the smaller side, but they are truly scrumptious and rich in flavor.

Dock Street Coffee Shop: Classic breakfast sandwiches and hot coffee – Dock Street Coffee Shop keeps it simple, yet delicious. This hole in the wall diner is small, but that doesn’t stop an abundance of excellent hospitality from the shop’s friendly staff. Their hash is considered the best on the Island!

Espresso Love: If you’re a lover of all things coffee, Espresso Love should definitely be on your bucket list this winter. Their menu features a handful of tasty coffee and espresso drinks, alongside smoothies, sandwiches, salads, and veggie bowls. There’s lots of fantastic vegan and vegetarian options too!

Soigne: When you’re out and about for the day, Soigne is a great spot to grab some lunch! Their menu ranges from classic sandwiches to tasty entrees such as Encrusted Salmon and Zucchini Pancakes.

Rosewater Market: Returning January 17th, 2023. Spreading kindness and delicious handmade food, Rosewater Market is a must-stop when visiting Edgartown. Whether it be from the smells of their thoughtfully-crafted food and freshly brewed coffee, or from the warmth of their welcoming staff, it’s impossible to walk into this spot without a smile. Join them for breakfast and enjoy their scratch-made pastries, or indulge in their Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich for lunch – you won’t regret it!

Edgartown Diner: Step back in time when entering Edgartown Diner, an old-school diner that’s loved by Islanders and visitors alike! Usually very busy during the summer months, the off-season is a fantastic time to visit.

Great Harbor Market: Just outside of downtown, Great Harbor Market is serving up deli sandwiches, subs, and pizzas through the winter. Their signature pizzas, such as the Neapolitan style “South Philly” and the “Drunken Grandma” are so delicious!

MoGlo Food Wagon: If you’re an early to bed, early to rise type, then the MoGlo Food Wagon at Morning Glory Farm should be the next stop on your Island Bucket List! This new food wagon made its debut this past summer, and has been serving up delicious sandwiches, toasts, southern style dishes, and so much more ever since. They are open daily from 7am – 2pm through the winter months, and even offer a handful of pop-ups each month. Make sure to check out their Instagram for their latest menus and pop-up experiences!

Square Rigger by Nina’s: The Square Rigger has been a beloved Island staple for locals and visitors alike for many generations. Now under new ownership, the restaurant has been transformed into a takeout window for the off-season that is open daily from 6:30am – 7pm. Their new menu now features affordable breakfast options, sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers like their tasty “Cheese Puffy” cheese bread.

West Tisbury

7a Foods: Considered a true farm to take out restaurant, 7a Foods is a favorite among Islanders and visitors alike. They’re open for breakfast and lunch, and offer fresh baked goods, farm fresh salads, artisan sandwiches, and a variety of prepared foods. Their Liz Lemon sandwich is a favorite among many, and for very good reason! When in the area, 7a is absolutely worth a try.

State Road Restaurant: There aren’t a lot of sit-down restaurants open in the later months on this side of the Island, which makes State Road Restaurant a hidden gem. This contemporary tavern captures an inviting and unique atmosphere, and the food is a feat in itself. Everything on the menu is scratch-made and sourced from local farmers, fishermen, and food artisans.

Plane View Restaurant: For a truly unique dining experience, the Plane View Restaurant at the Martha’s Vineyard Airport is a wonderful choice. Take in views of planes coming and going while enjoying a hearty meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Aquinnah

Orange Peel Bakery: The fire at Orange Peel Bakery burns nearly round the clock, which is an especially delightful treat in the colder months. Their highly sought after breads are absolutely worth making the trip!

Chilmark

Menemsha Fish Market: The small fishing village of Menemsha is arguably the best place to get fresh fish on Martha’s Vineyard, and the Menemsha Fish Market does not disappoint. Looking for fresh oysters, mussels, or steamers? They’ve got it! What about Clam Chowder or Lobster Bisque? They’ve got that too, and it’s as fresh as can be!

Please note that many of our year-round restaurants still take winter breaks from time to time so be sure to check with the restaurant directly to confirm operating hours and offerings.
