Can you see a half swipe on Snapchat in 2023?
Yes, someone can see if you half swipe their message in 2023. However, the feature is only available with Snapchat Plus.

If you half swipe on someone’s message and they pay for Plus, they will be notified. Normal users won’t be.
An eyes emoji appears next to your name when you half swipe, telling that person you secretly read their message.

However, Plus users can only see the eyes emoji if they have Snapchat open at the exact time you half swipe.

They will not receive a notification to their device. If they miss the eyes emoji, they will never know that you half swiped.
Peek a Peek with Snapchat Plus
The Snapchat Plus half swipe feature is called Peek a Peek as it lets you see when a friend is peeking into your messages.
“When someone peeks at a conversation you’re a part of, you’ll see the 👀 emoji next to the conversation in your Chat feed,” Snapchat says.
If you pay for Snapchat Plus, you can turn on Peek a Peek using the slider in the settings. It costs $3.99/£3.99 per month.
The half swipe is a much-loved feature that used to let you read someone’s message on Snapchat without them knowing.

You’d swipe across half way on the chat screen and take a peek at the message before swiping back and never opening it fully.
Snapchat half swipe notification angers users
Snapchat users are furious about the new half swipe notification and have been taking to Twitter to moan about it.
One person wrote: “Snapchat can y’all please turn off the thing where people can see me half swipe… lately the updates on snap have been terrible, but this is the worst one yet.”
“I just saw a thing where Snapchat is gonna start notifying people when you half way swipe the message. Now why do they gotta be snitches like that?” said another.
A third person added: “Snapchat ruined everything because why can people see when I half swipe now?”
“Snapchat making it where people can see when you half swipe is absolutely horrifying,” someone else tweeted.
