Some are more important, and some are less, but it is common knowledge that these characters are very intriguing, regardless of their role. One of these characters is Tōji Foshiguro, a supporting villain from the anime series who appeared in two arcs of the manga. Tōji Foshiguro is unique in many ways, and that is why fans have developed an interest in him, especially since he is bound to appear in the upcoming second season of Jujutsu Kaisen. This article will reveal just how old Tōji Fushiguro was in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and anime, from start to finish.

Tōji Foshiguro’s exact age in the Jujutsu Kaisen series was never revealed; we know that he was born on December 31, but his age was not confirmed. But, based on the fact that we know that Megumi is 15 and that he was, by all means, older than Gojō, who was 17 at the time and is 28 years old at the moment, Tōji Foshiguro would probably be around 35 years old (33 at least, if we assume that he was at least 18 years old when Megumi was born, but probably older) today, which means that he was probably around 25 years old when he died.

Tōji Fushiguro’s exact age remains unknown

Tōji Fushiguro’s age in Jujutsu Kaisen: ~25 years old (at the time of death)

Tōji Foshiguro was an enemy in the Gojō’s Past Arc, where he was the principal villain. He is Megumi’s father and a former member of the Zen’in Clan. Born as Tōji Zen’in, similar to Maki, he was born with a Heavenly Restriction, which rendered him completely devoid of cursed energy.

In exchange for this, he has gained superhuman physical abilities and highly developed senses, enabling him to see and sense cursed spirits. While he was young, he even visited Gojō and was surprised that the then-young sorcerer could see him, as Tōji was known for being undetectable. But even that was not enough for the Zen’in Clan.

He played a major role in the series as a secondary villain, but sadly, his age was never revealed. We know that he was born on December 31, but Akutami never confirmed his age, so we can only speculate.

Based on what we know from the series, Tōji was probably around 35 years old when he died. Namely, we know that Megumi is 15 and that Tōji was, by all means, older than Gojō by some years at the time (Gojō is now 28 years old). Now, if we’re to assume that Tōji was at least 18 years old when Megumi was born (he was probably older, but let’s go with the bare minimum), and we know that Gojō was 17 at the time, it would put Tōji in his mid-20s at the time, based on the fact that Megumi was some years old when Tōji died.

If we go to the present, adding Megumi’s age to Tōji’s supposed age would mean that he would, today, have at least 33 years, which we could round up to about 35 years. Going back to 2006, which was 12 years prior, it would mean that Tōji was somewhere between 21 and 23 years of age, and taking into account what we’ve said about not knowing his exact age, we could round it up to ~25 years, which would be Tōji’s approximate age at the time of his death, based on what we’ve said.

Now, let us see Tōji’s story. Rejected by his family for having this disease, he simply abandoned them one day. Many believe that his decision not to kill them was a fortunate happenstance for them because Tōji could have easily done so. He changed into a sorcerer assassin after departing. Additionally, he once crossed paths with Megumi’s mother, wed her, and adopted her last name, becoming Tōji Fushiguro. Later, he separated from Megumi’s mother and remarried, but he also abandoned his other kid, Tsumiki, and started living independently. He promised himself that he would never be proud of himself or anybody else for that matter.

At one point, He was paid to kill Riko Amanai, who was shielded by Getō and Gojō, who he could dispatch in their first meeting. He even managed to nearly kill Gojō, and he only survived by mastering the Reverse Cursed Technique, which allowed him to cure himself. When they faced again, Tōji was easily overwhelmed.

Tōji wanted to take some time to develop a new approach for Gojō, but he was overwhelmed when Satoru combined his old techniques into a new one, the Hollow Technique: Purple. With this technique, Tōji Fushiguro was (easily) killed by Gojō during their second meeting.

Although dead, Tōji Fushiguro ended up making a surprise return during the Shibuya Incident Arc, when he was brought back to life by Ogami using her grandson as a host body so that he could kill the sorcerers, but things didn’t really go as planned for the old lady. Namely, Tōji Fushiguro quickly took control of the vessel and managed to break free of Ogami’s control, as the grandson lacked the necessary amount of cursed energy to control him, after which he killed the old woman.

Guided now only by the desire to kill, he eliminates Dagon, engages in the clash with other sorcerers, and confronts Megumi (who does not recognize him) until, realizing that his son has maintained his individuality outside the Zen’in Clan, he decides to kill himself, saving him. So, this is how he died the second time; as far as things stand, he’s gone for good now.

Toji was by all means young when he had Megumi

Now, we know that Toji’s chronology is a bit confusing and that we still have little to no information about when the things that happened to him actually happened. This is a minus for Akutami, as he never really bothered to reveal and explain all of that, but based on what we do know from the series, we can actually – and we have, as you could’ve seen – deduced some facts. One of the biggest questions that we’ve seen online is how old Toji was when he had Megumi, and that is a question we are going to answer here.

First of all, officially, we don’t really know the exact age, but we know that he was young. Based on our assessments, the ones we’ve said above, Toji died around the age of 25, and a year later, Megumi was six years old. Assuming that he left his family when he was 18 years old and that he was at least a year older when he had Megumi, we can deduce that he was either 19 or 20 when he had Megumi, which makes sense in relation to our own chronology, the one we’ve portrayed above.

Now, this is not an exact age, we have to stress that out, as the manga never confirmed any of this, but based on what we know about everything here, the real age is not far off, as he couldn’t have been much older than 19 when he had Megumi, as it would not make sense based on what we actually do know from the canon manga. Maybe Akutami will give us some exact numbers later, but this is what we know so far, and this is our assumption based on the relevant facts.
