Based on my experience, playing a 12-minute-per-quarter game with 30 points and 25 assists increased interest from other teams by approximately 5-7%. Surprisingly, even a 5-minute-per-quarter game yielded similar results.

On the flip side, I played a lackluster game, finishing with only 6 points, 7 assists, and 4 turnovers in a 5-minute-per-quarter game. This resulted in a slight increase of 1-2% in team interest, while some teams lost interest or remained indifferent.
From these scenarios, it’s clear that your performance on the court is the key to gaining interest from other teams and requesting a trade. However, there was one exceptional game where I faced off against the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors, and gained a staggering 15% interest from a few teams after a single game. I achieved this by scoring 20 points, providing 10 assists, and making 4 steals, all while securing a significant victory.
While marquee matchups may give a temporary boost to team interest, the overall requirement is to consistently perform at a high level.
Simulating Games
In previous editions of NBA 2K, simulating games was a possibility. However, in NBA 2K23, I attempted to simulate four games, and unfortunately, none of the other teams showed increased interest. Since you will likely be sticking with your current team for the foreseeable future, it’s advisable to focus on improving your player while working towards requesting a trade.

There are a few strategies you can employ to enhance your player’s performance. You can lower the minutes played, reduce the difficulty level to boost your performance, or become more efficient to earn more valuable VCs per game. Additionally, securing endorsement deals can help bolster your VC earnings. Taking part in team practices will also unlock more badges, and if you’re looking for the fastest way to unlock badges, lowering the difficulty level and delivering outstanding performances will earn you more points.
Choosing the Right Team
Each player build in NBA 2K23 brings something unique to the table. For instance, you may have an exceptional center build, but its success can largely depend on the team you are playing for. If your build is more defensively oriented, it may not align with teams looking for a shooting big man to stretch the floor. Take these factors into account when considering a trade to a new team, as each position has its own distinct requirements.
Furthermore, consider the players being traded for you. If you have a high rating early on, the other team may need to make significant roster changes to accommodate the trade.
