LAST-MINUTE shoppers or those who always forget something need to know that several major retailers will not be open this weekend.
Burlington is joining a host of other stores in a 24-hour closure this weekend.

All of its stores will continue to operate at their normal hours today but will then shutter their doors until Monday.
“As you know, Burlington is a caring company. That’s why we’re closed on Easter so our associates can enjoy time off to spend with their family and friends,” the company stated on its blog.
“Burlington is always open online,” it reminded shoppers.
A number of retailers will be closing their doors on Sunday, March 31 to mark the religious holiday.
This move has seen shoppers pile on the praise for caring about employees and giving them time off to spend with friends and family.

Unlike Christmas Day, stores often take different approaches to Easter so shoppers must do their research before the weekend.
The U.S. Sun has created a list of stores that have confirmed closures on Sunday including JCPenney, some Nordstrom stores, Target, Macy’s, and Marshall’s.
As Burlington calls itself a “caring company,” others such as Marshall’s claim that are “associate-friendly” which is demonstrated with their Easter closure.
“We consider ourselves an Associate-friendly company and we are pleased to give Associates the time to enjoy Easter with family and friends,” Marshall’s told The U.S. Sun.
Meanwhile, on its website, Publix proudly states that in its 92-year history, it has always been closed on Easter Sunday to “allow our associated time with family and friends.”
However, other retailers will be making the most of the day with their rivals closed and will hope to bring in new customers and last-minute shoppers as a result.
Walmart is believed to be operating at its usual business hours on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Whole Foods will remain open but will limit its hours by closing at 6 pm.
Dollar General, Kroger, Meijer, and Safeway are also keeping their doors open along with Home Depot.
For other stores such as Albertsons, Kroger, and Safeway, customers are advised to check for changes to operation hours.
This is especially relevant to stores with pharmacies as these may differ from the opening hours of the rest of the store.
Ultimately, if you want to stay safe, it is best to get all essential items for the weekend today.
If by Sunday you realize you’ve made a grave mistake, your best option is to call your local store to see if it is open before making the trip down there.
Some stores like Nordstrom have announced partial closures with only a handful of stores slated to remain open.
The next day this year that you can expect mass changes to opening hours will be July 4.
