When Do New Blue Lock Episodes Come Out

Blue Lock spoilers follow.

Blue Lock has officially wrapped its first season! The high-scoring soccer anime ended with Isagi and his team duking it out with the International Five, but what does the future have in store?

Blue Lock season two was officially confirmed, alongside a spin-off movie, after the end credits of the season one finale.

Let’s take a look at what Blue Lock season two might be about, and when it might be released.

Blue Lock season 2 potential release date: When will Blue Lock season 2 air?

Blue Lock season one aired from October 2022 to March 2023. Across its 24 episodes, the anime covered 11 volumes (roughly 90 chapters) of the manga, which originally started in 2018.

If we expect Blue Lock season two to cover the same amount of source material, then fans might not be waiting too long. There are currently 24 volumes of the manga available, which means there’s currently just enough plot for a second season to go into production.

Although we have confirmation season two is in the works, it’s unclear how long it will take. If we were to make a conservative guess, we wouldn’t expect Blue Lock season two to be released before autumn 2024.

If you can’t wait that long though, you might not have to: a few months after Blue Lock season two was confirmed, the show’s official accounts announced that a spin-off movie, titled Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, would be released in Japan in spring 2024.

The movie will, as its name suggests, focus on Seishiro Nagi, one of the original show’s core characters. If you don’t remember, Nagi was a detached and despondent teen at the show’s start, only to become one of its fiercest competitors after a rivalry with Isagi ignited a passion for winning.

Blue Lock season 2 cast: Who’s in Blue Lock season 2?

We’d expect Blue Lock season two to bring back the majority of its core voice cast, including the following:

• Yoichi Isagi – Kazuki Ura (Japanese), Ricco Fajardo (English)• Meguru Bachira – Kaito Tasuku (Japanese), Drew Breedlove (English)• Jinpachi Ego – Hiroshi Kamiya (Japanese), Derick Snow (English)• Seishiro Nagi – Nobunaga Shimazaki (Japanese), Bryson Baugus (English)• Shōei Barō – Junichi Suwabe (Japanese), Matthew David Rudd (English)• Hyoma Chigiri – Soma Saito (Japanese), Aaron Dismuke (English)• Rin Itoshi – Kouki Uchiyama (Japanese), Matt Shipman (English)• Jyubei Aryu – Katsuyuki Konishi (Japanese), Bradley Gareth (English)• Aoshi Tokimitsu – Shinnosuke Tachibana (Japanese), Jordan Dash Cruz (English)• Rensuke Kunigami – Yuuki Ono (Japanese), Alex Hom (English)

Blue Lock season 2 plot: What will happen in Blue Lock season 2?

The first season of Blue Lock covered half the currently-published source manga, which means season two would most likely adapt volumes 12-23. This means that, for impatient fans, there are plenty of details about what Blue Lock season two might cover. Read on for some minor spoilers about what could be in store.

After the events of Blue Lock season one, the core players advance to the Third Selection. Here the top 35 players in the program must compete to form a team of eleven, eventually competing against Japan’s national Under 20 team.

After the ‘U-20’ arc, events in the manga get even wilder! Without spoiling too much, it turns out Ego has much bigger plans in place to test the abilities of his players – including a massive international, televised tournament.
