ASHLAND Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday for Rock the Country, a tour that will come to Boyd County in 2024, featuring Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Brantley Gilbert, Travis Tritt and Nelly, among others.
The two-day music festival, slated for April 19 and 20, is expected to attract about 30,000 to the private property near the fairgrounds, Andrew Steele, executive director of the Boyd County Tourism and Convention Bureau.

Steele said local lodging won’t be able to accommodate that size of crowd, as local hotels and motels are usually booked at 70% capacity, and he anticipates rooms will be booked “from Morehead to Charleston.”
Those attending will be asked to plan to park at the Boyd County Fairgrounds. From there, law enforcement will direct attendees to the concert area; shuttles will be available. Camping will be available in the area behind the stage.

The touring show aims to stop at small towns, including Rome, Georgia, Gonzalez, Louisiana, Ocala, Florida, Mobile, Alabama, Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Anderson, South Carolina. The Boyd County concert fits right in, Brandy Clark, executive director of Visit Ashland, Kentucky, said.
“Ashland might be a small town, but we have big dreams, and it seems each week those dreams are coming true and our future is looking brighter,” Clark said. “We are so thankful our town has been given the opportunity to host the Rock the Country Tour and we can’t wait to celebrate the resilience and spirit of our community through the magic of live music.”
Steele said law enforcement and emergency personnel will have their work cut out for them, but the strength of the staff will allow them to handle it.
“They’ll get to show off and say, ‘Look what we can do,’” he said. “It will be a resume builder for them.”

Cost of tickets will start at $129; VIP tickets are $299. There is an additional fee for camping.
Others set to perform at the Boyd County event include Gavin Adcock, Colt Ford, Elvie Shane, Sadie Base and Dee Jay Silver.
Steele said if attendance is good, the festival could return next year.
