World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 1 release date marks the moment when the MMORPG’s ninth expansion kicks into full gear. Blizzard plans to use what it learned from Shadowlands’ final season to provide a more varied offering of content in between its start and end dates, tapping into the game’s different eras.

WoW: Dragonflight’s Season 1’s start date brings with it the new Vault of the Incarnates raid alongside a new batch of Mythic+ dungeons and PvP Season with new rewards. It will keep us busy during the holidays and heading into next year, hopefully signaling the end of the MMO’s recent troubled period.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 1 Release Date

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 1 has locked in its start date to the week of December 12, likely kicking off as soon as the weekly reset occurs in your region.

• World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 1 start date: December 13 (NA)/December 14 (EU)

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 1 end date: During the week of May 2 (likely May 2/May 3)

Its end date is set to occur during the week of May 2, Blizzard has confirmed.

More precisely, both the Mythic+ and PVP season will end at 10 PM the night before maintenance begins in each region (10 PM PDT – NA; 10 PM CEST – EU).

Once that happens, you will no longer be able to earn PvP seasonal rewards, titles, or Dragonflight Season 1 rankings.

Mythic+ enthusiasts should know that qualifying ratings for the 0.1% Thundering Hero: Dragonflight Season 1 achievement will be recorded.

Both the “Thundering Hero” title and its achievement being given out during the following weeks, which is why the developer suggests delaying any planned faction changes until you receive it.

In addition, all other Mythic+ achievements and rewards remain earnable until Dragonflight Season 2 kicks off.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 1 Content

The expansion’s first raid, Vault of the Incarnates will also become available during the week of December 12.

Players can tackle normal, heroic, and mythic difficulties right away. Cross-faction mythic will also be available from the get-go, but Hall of Fame entries require at least 16 out of 20 raiders to be from the same guild and faction, if you’re planning on obtaining rewards.

The following three weeks will each see one new wing of the raid becoming available on the more relaxed Raid Finder difficulty.

New Mythic+ and PvP seasons are also set to kick off when Season 1 lands. The former will feature a new dungeon rotation, which includes 4 new additions from Dragonlands and 4 dungeons from older expansions.

Mythic+ runs won’t come with capped item level rewards during the first week, as the mythic difficulty of the seasonal raid is no longer releasing at a later date. A new affix will also be introduced, while Necrotic and Inspiring are confirmed to not be present.

WoW: Dragonflight’s Season 1 gives players the opportunity of chasing down exclusive rewards between its start and end dates.

Raiders can aim for Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge achievements, Mythic+ players have Keystone Master achievements and other rewards to look forward to, while PvP enthusiasts can battle each other for Gladiator goodies.
