The MW2 Season 6 release date was Wednesday, September 27, 2023, with the season set to end two weeks after the launch of MW3 on December 5, 2023.
The season content drop took place on September 20, 2023, when we found out that the likes of Spawn, Soul Crusher, and Violator would appear in the Battle Pass. Al Simmons, AKA Spawn, was voiced by his original ’90s animated voice actor Keith David, who is no stranger to the Call of Duty voice booth, having voiced Sargent Foley in the original Modern Warfare 2 in 2009.
Halloween saw the return of The Haunting, and it was better than ever with jumpscares, exclusive LTMs, and unlockable skins, camos, and weapon Blueprints.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 details
The MW2 Season 5 battle pass included a range of Spawn-themed operator skins, including Al Simmons himself as a new Operator, and Tier 0 and Tier 100 skins, among others. Bundles this season brought classic horror franchises to CoD for Halloween, including DOOM, Diablo, and Evil Dead.
Some MW2 game modes got a new lease of life for the spooky season, including Haunting Domination, Infected, and Kill Confirmed. Core map Koro Village was brought back, and would have been familiar to those who remember Toujane from Call of Duty 2. Finally, returning multiplayer map King arrived at launch.
