Overwatch 2 has just kicked off its eighth season. The addition of new Overwatch Heroes has continued with another new Tank. While the updates are getting bigger, the seasons are standing and ending at the same rate. The Overwatch season end dates have each been pretty predictable so far, but there’s been a lot of changes this season. With the Activision buyout now completed and ownership changing over Overwatch, could it have a knock-on effect at the end of the season?

Season 8 of Overwatch 2 has only just started up. Players have barely had time to get into all of the new features like the brand-new mode. However, it won’t last forever. Each Overwatch 2 season end date so far has come around 9 weeks after it launched, except the most recent two which have shortened to 8 weeks. Each has had roughly the same uniform length. This makes it pretty simple to keep track of the Overwatch season end dates so we can pretty accurately predict when this one is going to end.
Overwatch 2 Season 8 began on December 5th, making it our Christmas season. This also puts the Overwatch 2 Season 8 end date at January 30th! This is just an estimate at the moment though. While the OW season start and end dates have been pretty uniform, it could change. Going by past dates we’re looking at at around the end of January. While seasons were 9 weeks long, they’ve now shortened to 8 moving it from early February to late January. We’ll have to wait for an official end date though. There is a lot of change coming in early 2024 including to monetization, we could see season lengths change too.
The game is due to cross over into its next season in January or February 2024. That season in turn will likely be ending in April. At least if the Overwatch season end date lines up with all of the past end dates so far.

Compared to Fortnite season lengths or other games, they’ve actually been surprisingly straightforward outside of getting a week shorter recently!
