Quiet on the green! Topgolf officially opens in Memphis on Friday and golf fans are gearing up to get their club on over the weekend.

What’s the difference between Topgolf and a driving range?

While Topgolf can function like a driving range, there are a number of games to play when you are at the site. There are 15 total games offered that range in difficulty from beginner to advanced. There are five beginner levels, five intermediate levels and five advanced levels.

Even if you’ve gone golfing before, it might be a good idea to try one of the beginner games before the intermediate, so you can get used to the function of the game.

How much does Topgolf cost?

Topgolf prices depend on the day and the hour. Pricing starts at $30 per hour per bay from open to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. It then increases to $40 from noon to 5 p.m. and $52 from 5 p.m. to close.

There is a bit of a price jump over the weekend with the starting rate from open to noon at $35 per bay. From noon to 5 p.m., the price is $47, and from 5 p.m. to close, it is $58.

Tuesdays are half-price at Topgolf. From open to noon, it is $15 per bay, and $20 per bay from noon to 5 p.m. The day closes out with the cost per hour per bay being $26.

What are Topgolf’s hours?

Monday through Thursday, Topgolf is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. On Fridays, it is open from 10 a.m. to midnight, and on Saturdays, it is open from 9 a.m. to midnight. Topgolf is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.

Do I need to reserve before I go?

Reservations are not required at Topgolf. Participants are able to walk in and go to a bay, however, there may be a wait time when there are large crowds. Topgolf encourages groups of seven or more to reserve bays in advance.

There is also the option not to play and just hang out with your friends. Each bay accommodates up to six players and a few extra guests. As you pay per bay and not per person, you can have three people playing and three people watching if that is what you choose.

What’s on the Topgolf menu?

Topgolf has its full food and drink menu available online. Its main features are an array of dishes for the table like cheesy macaroni bites, warm pretzel bites, chips and queso, and nachos to name a few. There are also entrees like wings, flatbreads, salads and burgers available too.

Yes, Topgolf has a full bar ready to serve its 21 and older patrons. They have everything from beer to wine to cocktails as well as regular non-alcoholic drinks. And they even serve a specialty drink in a cup shaped like a golf bag.

If you do bring your own clubs, there are holders in each of the bays for the bags. If there is a wait before you can get to a bay, employees can hold your bag for you behind the counter while you get a drink and enjoy the bar area.

How do I win?

Topgolf is a little different than regular golf in that you want to score the most points possible. While each game varies in how it scores you, the best advice for winning is to be accurate with your shots. The more accurate you are, the more points you get.
