A blue jay is known to be a messenger from heaven.

This bird is believed to be divine and a bearer of good news, just like the angels of God.

Blue jays are known for their distinctive calls and are often associated with communication.

In some parts of the world, the blue jay is seen as a messenger that brings news or information.

Because of their striking blue color and regal appearance, blue jays are often associated with royalty, power, and status.

The blue color is a divine color like the sky or heavenly where God dwells. The Bible says in Isaiah 66:1 that heaven is God’s throne, signifying authority and power.

Therefore, the appearance of a blue jay could be a sign from heaven that you are about to experience a promotion, or you have been called to be a leader or occupy a special place of authority in any area of your life.

It also means that God is about to give you authority to operate in a new dimension in a given area of your life.

Blue jays migrate unpredictablymeaning blue jay sign from heaven

Most migratory birds have a predictable migratory schedule and route.

Bird watchers know which birds to expect in winter and which ones to expect in summer.

Some birds move away during winter and return when the temperatures are warmer. However, the same cannot be said of blue jays.

These birds are also migratory, and they migrate in thousands across the Great Lakes and Atlantic coasts. However, the difference is that their migratory patterns or reasons are not clear.

In some regions, the Bluejays will remain through the winter months.

Still, it has been observed that younger blue jays are more likely to migrate than older ones. But that is not to mean that adults do not migrate.

Some jays may emigrate south in one year and then stay north for the next winter before emigrating south again in the next year. These patterns appear random, and experts have not figured out what triggers them or why these birds migrate to begin with.

There is a lot of spiritual wisdom in the migratory patterns of the jays.

Just as their migration is unpredictable, Christians should not conform to the standards of this world but instead, seek to follow the standards that are outlined in the word of God.

When writing to the Romans, Paul takes a pleading tone when he starts talking about this in the following scripture. (Romans 12:1-2)

From this scripture, we can infer that understanding God’s will for your life stems from surrendering your life to God.

A life that is surrendered to God will not conform to the standards of the world but will instead be transformed through the inspired word of God.

Blue jays can mimic hawksblue jays in the bible

Bleu jays have been known to mimic the sounds of hawks.

Lots of theories have been offered to explain why they do these, including:

  • It is hypothesized that males with enlarged song repertoires increase their chances of getting a mate.
  • It is possible that hawk mimicking is done by males as a way of males distinguishing themselves from the other males in the group. This may be seen as a way of asserting dominance.
  • Blue jays also mimic hawk calls as a way of scaring away predators. Since hawks hunt other birds and reptiles that may pose a threat to bluejays, it makes sense that imitating them would scare away other predators.
  • Blue jays mimic hawks to notify other jays of the presence of a predator. The commonest predators that prey on bluejays are hawks, owls, and falcons. When the blue jay sees any of these nearby, he may mimic the hawk call to send a warning to the rest.

Just like their migratory patterns, which remain a mystery, it is still not clear why blue jays mimic hawks.

It could be any of the reasons suggested above or a combination of all the reasons. Whatever the case may be, this unique skill can teach us some biblical lessons.

The first and most important lesson we can learn from jay’s mimicry of hawks is the way the devil is a master of deceit. The Bible says that he even masquerades as an angel of light.

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself, masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:13-14

The Bluejay should therefore be a reminder that you need to have the gift of discernment.

This is an important gift to have in this day and age when apostasy is on the increase.

Through discernment, the church will know what the enemy is up to, and they will also differentiate between the false and true prophets.

Blue jays can use toolsblue jay symbolism death

Blue jays are not only tricksters, but they are also very intelligent.

Caged blue jays have been documented using tools to access food.

In one instance, the birds were observed ripping newspaper linings that had been placed in the cage and then using the paper strips to access food pellets that were otherwise out of reach for them.

Even though the use of tools amongst blue jays has not been documented in the wild, this caged example is enough proof that these birds use similar tactics to access food and other materials in the wild.

The Bible encourages us to use “tools” that will make work easier. For instance, lumberjacks are reminded to sharpen their axes for better results.

If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success. Ecclesiastes 10:10

Even though this advice applies to axes, it can also be taken as a proverb that applies to other life situations.

You can use less effort to achieve the same results with a little preparation.

Abraham Lincoln must have understood this when he said that if he had 6 hours to chop down a tree, he would spend the first 4 sharpening his axe.

Before you embark on a laborious task, take a lesson from the bluejay and try to make your work easier by identifying tools you can use. Remember, time spent in preparation is never time wasted.
