Blueberries are a delicious fruit, filled with antioxidants, and you can find them grown locally at many farms in Southern California. And the cool thing is, you can pick your own blueberries at most of these farms!
California grows multiple millions of pounds of blueberries every year, and exports them all around the world, not to mention all over the state!

Blueberries can be eaten fresh, of course, but they can also be used in baking and cooking. Blueberry muffins, pies, and pancakes are well-known, but they can also be used in salads, cocktails, and roasted with meats. These little berries are very versatile!
Know Before You Go
Within a short drive of Los Angeles, you’ll find many farms for picking your own blueberries, but if you’re planning to visit one, be sure to check with each farm ahead of time. Each day’s harvest must be carefully managed, which can sometimes result in picking being canceled for the next day.
Follow the farms on social media — or give them a call. They’ll let you know whether they’re picking and what rules they have in place.
Some farms discourage you from bringing pets with you, some ask that you bring your own buckets, some farms have picnic grounds, and some have harvest festivals — each one is unique. Wherever you go, we hope you enjoy it!

When is blueberry season, and when can we pick cherries or strawberries? Here’s a list of all the fruit seasons in SoCal:
- Blueberry season usually starts in May and can last into August.
- Cherries can usually be picked in May and June.
- Strawberries are grown year-round, but many people think the peak season is from April-July.
- Citrus, like lemons and tangerines, are usually in season from February to October.
- Apple picking season usually begins in late September and lasts into November.

Blueberry Picking in Riverside County

Founded in the 90s, this farm grows blueberries and lets you pick your own fruit every season — usually in May and June. They also sell honey, jams, syrup, and more. Please check their website for the latest information on when to pick blueberries as well as tips and other information.
The farm plans to be open for blueberry picking on July 1st and 2nd of 2023 and hopes to be open as well on Monday, July 3rd, and Tuesday, July 4th, 2023.

Pick Your Own Fruit Farms — San Bernardino County

Open seasonally, this farm is known for apples in the fall, and blackberries and raspberries in the summer. Organically grown flowers are a newer addition to the farm. They’ve also got a kitchen garden and offer farm visits as well as hosting multiple festivals each year.

This farm is known for its apples, honey, cider — and for U-Pick raspberries in the summer. They also host a terrific Apple Blossom Festival in the spring.

This farm is known for its raw honey, blueberries, oranges, grapefruit, lemons, and a very fun seasonal specialty — Christmas trees. They also sell jams and their famous BBQ sauce. They offer U-Pick blueberries in season.

This farm is known for growing many fruits and vegetables, and for hosting U-Pick blueberries in season. They also offer shampoo and conditioning bars, facial products, and body products. You may not bring pets along when visiting the farm.
