When Is Nashville Pride 2023

The Nashville Pride Festival and Parade, the event celebrating the culmination of Pride month, is this weekend in Music City.

The 2023 pride event will occur months after the state legislature passed a controversial bill that banned drag performances — before a federal judge blocked the legislation.

The first Nashville Pride parade took place in 1988. Back then, Nashville residents and visitors marched from Fannie Mae Dees Park (also known as the Dragon Park) to Centennial Park. In 2010, the festival received national attention when headliner Vanessa Carlton came out as bisexual.

Earlier this month, Franklin held its annual pride event after the immediate future of the event was debated by local leaders. Franklin Pride organizers later said 2023 attendance exceeded previous years and no major crime or protests were reported.
