What is the ShopRite Can Can Sale?
The ShopRite Can Can sale, or the World’s Greatest sale of the year, as some call it, is an annual event that has been running since 1970. During the sale, customers enjoy huge discounts on a wide variety of canned goods, from soup and tuna fish to canned tomatoes and more. The sale is famous for its iconic jingle, set to “Infernal Galop,” and has sold more than 3 billion canned items since its inception. In 2002, they introduced a summer Can Can sale. However, that sale has morphed into weeks-long digital doorbuster deals on summer foods instead of winter items like soup.
The ShopRite Can Can Sale starts the first week of January and lasts about three weeks.
The annual event that takes place in January and spans over a three-week period. In 2023, the sale started on January 4 with their Kickoff sale and continued until January 21. Looking ahead to next year, we expect the ShopRite Can Can Sale to kick off on January 3 and go through January 20, 2024. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss out on the once-a-year stock up deals!

How to Save Big During the ShopRite Can Can Sale
Before shopping the Can Can sale, note which canned goods you need and plan your shopping with their weekly circular. Your goal should be to stock up on enough canned goods that’ll get you through the next 6 – 12 months. Refer to the KCL stock up price list to save you the most money and time for up to an entire year. You can also shop online for convenient delivery or curbside pickup.
Here are some of the deals we saw from the ShopRite Can Can sale in 2023. Unlike some grocery stores, including Kroger and Meijer, ShopRite requires you buy a set number of items for a specific price like 10/$10 or 6/$4. Buy any more or less and you pay the regular price.
Most of the deals from the ShopRite Can Can Sale 2023 had a limit of four offers which means you could buy up to four times the base deal for example:

Get a free $25 gift card in December to use on your Can Can deals in January.
If you’ve got a Price Club card and little ones at home, you could get a free $25 gift with any $75 purchase (in store or online pickup) of Gerber, Luvs, and/or Pampers items during December that you can use on your Can Can sale purchase in January. In 2022, ShopRite offered this free $25 gift card promotion for the entire month of December. You can meet the $75 minimum over multiple transactions during the promotion. Once you’ve spent $75, present your receipt to your cashier or a customer service member showing you qualify. They’ll give you a free $25 ShopRite gift card. Limit one gift card per Price Club Card.
