Warzone Season 2 release date

The Warzone Season 2 release date is set for Wednesday, February 7, 2024. You can expect the game to update at 9AM PT / 2PM ET / 5PM GMT.

This update will include new gameplay content, alongside a seasonal patch which will balance changes and provide a fairer playing field, bringing with it an update to the Warzone meta. Nothing official has been announced, but as soon as it is we’ll update this guide.

In the past, new seasons have added new guns, new maps, and new game modes, and Warzone Season 2 is no different. With a Walking Dead crossover, a new (old) Resurgence map, and a host of new guns, Season 2 is going to be a big one.

New Warzone map

Fortune’s Keep is coming to Warzone Season 2. The Season 2 key art features Fortune’s Keep in the background, confirming the smaller map’s appearance in the latest season.

This information was previously confirmed in a COD Next broadcast, along with the news that Rebirth Island will follow “later in 2024”. Ted Timmins, senior creative director at Raven Software, also confirmed that the addition of these two maps is being led by High Moon Studios and Beenox, the teams that originally designed them.

While the fundamental layout of Fortunes Keep remains the same, several new additions are coming with the new Fortune’s Keep Warzone map. Geographical locations have been added, such as the Konni Outpost, which should keep gunfights varied and exciting.

Warzone x The Walking Dead crossover

The Call of Duty Twitter account has confirmed that Rick Grimes and Michonne are heading to Warzone next season. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is a limited series that is due to release on February 25, 2024.

Rick Grimes appears on the new season’s key art and is the instant reward unlock when purchasing the battle pass. Michonne will also be available to purchase as an in-store bundle.

New Warzone weapons

With each new Warzone season, new weapons are usually added. We’ve not received any official word from Activision yet as to what is going to be added, but we estimate that the following new guns will be added to Warzone:

BP50 – A mobile assault rifle with an extremely high rate of fire, the BP50 excels over the mid to long-range. Exceptional recoil control means you should have no issues hitting your target, no matter how far away they are.
RAM-9 – The SMG cousin to the hard-hitting assault rifle, the RAM-9 shreds enemies at close range, but as with other submachine guns, struggles at range.
SOA Subverter – A slow-firing, but hard-hitting battle rifle, the SOA Subverter excels at distance due to its predictable recoil pattern and high damage.
