DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN)— With the long awaited National Peanut Festival upon us, it’s important to keep up with what’s going on everyday!

Below is a comprehensive list of everyday events, entertainment schedule, and need-to know information for the National Peanut Festival:

Friday, November 3 (First Day of National Peanut Festival)

  • Gates open- 4:00 p.m.
    • $10 gate admission and $30 ride armbands
  • Ribbon cutting at the main entrance – 6:00 p.m.
  • Opening Day Parade of the Festival inside fairgrounds
  • First day of “Taste of Festival” contest
  • Alabama Bred Lamb Show – 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 4

  • South and Ag Gates open- 8:00 a.m.
  • Main Gate and Midway open- 10:00 a.m.
    • $10 gate admission and $40 ride armbands
  • Second day of “Taste of Festival” contest
  • Car Show (BankPlus Arena)- 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Jr. Heifer/Feeder Steer- noon
  • Open Market Sheep Show- 2:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 5

  • All gates open- 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
    • $8 gate admission and $30 ride armbands
  • Final day of “Taste of Festival” contest
  • Open Beef Cattle Show- 10:00 a.m.

Monday, November 6

  • All gates open- 4:30 p.m.
    • $10 gate admission and $25 ride armbands
    • Pre-registered farmers and their families get in free
    • $5 gate admission ALFA Members with Membership Card
  • Farmers Day and ALFA Members Day
  • Open Dairy Goat Show- 9:00 a.m.
  • Calf Scramble and Greased Pig Scramble (BankPlus Arena)- 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, November 7

  • All gates open- 4:30 p.m.
    • $10 gate admission and $25 ride armbands
    • $5 gate admission ALFA Members with Membership Card
  • ALFA Members day
    • $2 off Tuesday- All festival food orders of $10 or more get $2 off
  • Market Hog Showmanship- 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 8

  • All gates open- 4:30 p.m.
    • $10 gate admission and $30 ride armbands
  • Dream Big Food Drive for the Wiregrass Food Bank
    • Bring a minimum of 3 cans of food or one jar of peanut butter and receive a coupon for $8 gate admission and $25 ride armbands
  • Special Citizens Day
  • Jr. Breeding Hog Show- 10:00 a.m.
  • Market Hog Show- 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, November 9

  • Senior citizens day
    • Gates open for senior citizens- 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • All gates open for the general public- 4:30 p.m.
    • First 10,000 people get in free
    • $30 ride armband
  • Poultry Show- 6:00 p.m.
  • Rides open until midnight

Friday, November 10

  • All gates and Midway open- 1:00 p.m.
    • $10 gate admission and $35 ride armbands

Saturday, November 11

  • National Peanut Festival Parade (Downtown Dothan) – 9:30 a.m.
  • All gates open – 10:00 a.m. to midnight
    • Free admission for Military, Veterans, and their dependents with ID
    • $40 ride armbands
  • Demolition Derby- 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  • Youth Meat Goat Show- 10:00 a.m.

Sunday, November 12 (Last day of National Peanut Festival)

  • All gates open- 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
    • Midway Rides, Kiddieland, and Midway concessions only
    • $30 ride armband

*** AllMetal Amphitheater concerts are free with paid Gate admission. It is $10 for GA-General Admission Folding Chair Seating, behind the reserved bench seats. Visitors can pay $20 for the RS-Reserved Bench Seating, closest to the stage.

MegaPass

MegaPasses are not availible for purchase during the Peanut Festival, November 3-11, but are for sale online until Thursday, November 2, or in person at the fairgrounds on Friday, November 3. You can use the MegaPass on any day of the week. You can redeem them for an armband inside the fairgrounds at Guest Relations.

Safety and Code of Conduct

Bags entering the fairgrounds must be 12″X 6″ X 12″ or smaller. This rule does not apply to diaper bags. All bags are subject to a screen before entry.

Metal detectors will be placed at every entrance to the fairgrounds.

Items prohibited within the fairgrounds:

  • Aerosol Cans
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Banners, Signs, or flags on poles
  • Bicycles, tricycles, or unicycles
  • Foot-powered or electric scooters (such as Bird, Lime, or Lyft scooter)
  • Skateboards, hoverboards, roller skates, or inline skates
  • UAV – drones
  • Animals such as pets and emotional support animals (service animals are allowed)
  • Balloons
  • Beach Balls
  • Commercial A/V Equipment
  • Fireworks, sparklers, or explosives
  • Glass Bottles
  • Hard-sided coolers
  • Illegal Substances (drugs, paraphernalia, etc.)
  • Lasers
  • Noisemakers
  • Sticks, Bats, Poles
  • Weapons, Firearms, Knives

Additional rules:

  • Anyone with offensive clothes will be asked to leave.
  • Fighting will not be tolerated within the festival grounds.
  • Vendors will not be allowed to sell weapons of any kind.
