When The Glory Of God Is Upon You

This is the first revelation I write in the year 2014. It has been a long time since I wrote the last revelation in October 2013. Things were not well for me and I was blinded by the devil; I failed to see the love of God and His grace and could not recognize His goodness in my life during that period of blindness.

I was too focused on my situation and kept thinking when the Lord will act for me. I thought I was focusing on the Lord by expecting to see Him move in my life. Praise the Lord for His patient and love due to His amazing grace. The Holy Spirit slowly leads me back to the truth and my eyes are able to see the truth and the faith is coming back.

I will pen down the questions I had for the Lord and will reveal the answer I receive from Him at a later date. Praise the Lord that He imputed within me the desire to purchase Pastor Joseph Prince new book “The Power Of Right Believing”. At first when I read the book, I felt nothing, but I still continued to read. I came to a portion that Pastor Joseph Prince mentioned about the road to Emmuas.

On the road there were two disciples who were sad after Jesus died and was buried. They thought He was the One who would redeem Israel from all her trouble and situation. But God had a greater plan; Daddy God and Jesus want to redeem not just Israel but the whole world. Then Jesus expounded to them in all the Scriptures concerning Himself and then the two disciples’ eyes were opened after the Holy Communion. You may read this in Luke 24:13-35.

Upon reading this portion, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes and I realized I was just like the two disciples: focusing too much on self (even self-problems). It seems that I have an understanding that God wants me to enjoy Jesus no matter what the situation is. Suddenly the story of Paul and Silas praising and worshipping God in the prison gave me a new revelation; they were enjoying the presence of Jesus despite the situation they were imprisoned for being wrongly accused (you may read this in Acts 16:16-25).

Both Paul and Silas were praying and singing aloud unto God because the other prisoners were able to hear them. This shows that they truly enjoyed the presence of God. If you are not happy or enjoying, it is unlikely that you will be able to sing aloud. Then I perceived from the Holy Spirit that I need to learn to enjoy the presence of Jesus Christ my Lord in any situation and never bother about it but commit and trust that God is taking care of it for me.

This thought and revelation somehow settles my heart and soul although I have yet to receive a complete answer from the Lord regarding my questions.

Therefore I made a decision to the Lord that I shall learn to enjoy His presence and I need His Holy Spirit to make it happen for me. It is happening for me right now and I pray that it shall continue to be this way: enjoying the presence of Jesus.

Now I want to make use of this opportunity to write down what I received and learned. Pastor Joseph Prince always has the habit of asking the Lord for a theme for New Creation Church, and this year 2014 theme is ‘The Year Of Greater Glory’. The bible verses he gotten from the Lord is Isaiah 60:1-5.

Isaiah 60:1-5 1Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. 2For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. 4“Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side. 5Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.

After the service on Sunday, 5th January 2013, I felt the desire to meditate on Isaiah 60:1-5 since it is the word God gave to Pastor Prince for the church (New Creation Church), and I am a member of the church, I feel that the word is for me and I want to take it seriously.

After meditating a few times, I felt that I wanted to check the word light in Isaiah 60 verse one. Then the Holy Spirit linked to me that Jesus is the Light of the world. The reason a believer can rise and shine is because his light, Jesus, has come. It is written in the New Testament that Jesus is the Light of the world.

John 1:6-13 6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. 8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 8:12 12Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

John 9:5 5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

John 12:46 46I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.

Since Jesus has come and finished the work at the cross, the glory of God is risen upon you. Take note that the glory of God is risen and not will, this means you don’t have to wait for His glory to rise but it is now risen upon you.

Now what is the glory of God?

Pastor Prince explained that the glory of God is an appearance that commands respect. He continued to explain the word ‘glory’ in Greek which is doxa. Pastor Prince explained that Thayer’s definition of doxa is is having a good opinion concerning one (normally in New Testament). And the word ‘glory’ in Hebrew is ‘kabod’ which means weighty or heavy, but it can also mean wealth or prosperity.

Pastor Prince said that ‘kabod’ appears in Genesis 13:2 Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. The word ‘rich’ in Hebrew is ‘kabod’, therefore the glory can also means wealth and prosperity. Although Pastor Prince had explained the glory of God in Hebrew and Greek, I still felt unsatisfied and wanted the bible explanation of the glory of God.

I found a few verses that contain the ‘glory of God’.

John 11:40 40Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

Lazarus was dead and Jesus wanted to remove the stone but Martha tried to stop Him then Jesus spoke those words. What did Martha see? She saw Lazarus who was dead for four days was risen from dead; she saw the power of God at work for her (a miracle for her). Therefore the glory of God can also mean the power of God at work to make miracles happen for you. There is an earlier verse which is John 11:4 and it describes the glory of God as God’s power to demonstrate miracles.

John 11:4 4When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

The reason Jesus allowed Lazarus died for four days is because He wanted the people to see that God had given Him the power (on earth) to forgive people and raised people from dead. He wanted them to witness the power of God and let them know that God’s power is at work for them, not against them.

Psalm 19:1 1The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.

Psalm 91:1 says that the heavens declare the glory of God. This is because there are three levels of heaven. The reason I said this is because Paul mentioned that he was caught up in third heaven (2 Corinthians 12:2-4). Third heaven is the place where God’s throne is and where all the saints are. From what I know, the first heaven is the blue sky, the second heaven is the universe and finally the third heaven is the Paradise (where God’s throne is).

No man can fully explain the way the heavens are because it is the work of God, and this creation demonstrates His power to man. No matter how smart man can be, he can never create such thing as heavens.

I shall prove to you that the glory of God also means the power of God at work for you.

John 2:11 11This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

John 2:11 says that Jesus performed His first miracle of turning water into wine and this manifested His glory. I shall paraphrase it to Jesus performed His first miracle to make known that God’s power is at work for you. Why do I say this?

In John 2, Jesus was at a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the wine ran out then Mary (the mother of Jesus) told Him that they had no wine. This is not a life and death situation and it won’t matter if Jesus didn’t perform the miracle. However it concerned Him because it was a celebration of a couple being together and He wanted everyone to enjoy themselves.

Pastor Prince brought to my attention that a good wine requires years and years of aging, maybe 20, 30 or even 50 years; Jesus compressed time in an instant (I learned this from Pastor Joseph Prince). Therefore it is a miracle that Jesus could turn the water into a very good wine. The master of the feast commented that the wine was good. It was the power of God at work to bless the married couple because the people enjoyed the wine at the feast.

Since the glory of God also means the power of God at work for you, this year 2014 shall be a year of greater power of God at work. I receive this word by faith because I am a New Creation Church member, and I shall witness God’s power at work in my life.

Now I shall continue to explain Isaiah 60:1-5. Verse two says that ‘the darkness’ shall overwhelm the earth. Pastor Prince mentioned that ‘the darkness’ and ‘deep darkness’ are two different words in Hebrew. I did a check, ‘the darkness’ is ‘choshek’ in Hebrew, and choshek also appears in Exodus 10:21-22.

Exodus 10:21-22 21Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.” 22So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.

I remember Pastor Prince did mention that this darkness (choshek) is not a physical darkness because the Egyptians could not see each other during the period of darkness. Surely the Egyptians had lamps that could light up their houses but they could not see even if the physical light was used.

This could mean that this year 2014 might be a year of darkness for the earth where no one can see what they do as they will be blinded by the darkness (choshek). The words ‘deep darkness’ in Hebrew is ‘araphel’ which means heavy or dark cloud. This could mean that the people of the earth will feel gloomy since the darkness covers them.

However the people of God will not be gloomy because our Lord will arise over us and His glory shall be seen upon us. Notice that there is nothing for you and I to do because it is written the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. There is not a word that tells a believer to do anything but the scripture tells us what the Lord will do for us when the darkness (choshek) attacks the people of the earth.

What is the outcome of allowing Lord Jesus to arise over you and His glory to manifest?

Non-believers will come to Jesus because they will be able to see the protection and blessing of God in our lives because of Jesus. Then important people will recognise the power of God at work in your life. It is written kings to the brightness of your rising. The Holy Spirit impressed upon me that the brightness of your rising means that the power of God shall be at work for you and people, especially important people, shall recognise something supernatural in your life. It is not you or me to do anything, but the Lord will. People who do not believe Jesus Christ as the Saviour and Lord will begin to see His grace and blessings at work in my life; non-believers will want to know my Jesus, and important people will notice the supernatural power that is at work for me. Just like Potiphar saw the LORD at work in Joseph’s life (Genesis 39:3).

This is not the only wonderful work the Lord will do for us, because our families will be gathered together as Isaiah 60:4 says. I also believe it can also mean spiritual family; there will be more and more people believing Jesus and accept Him as Saviour because the Holy Spirit will be at work for the greater glory of God.

The Lord will also bless us materially. Isaiah 60:5 says that the wealth of unbelievers will come to us. Believers do not have to pursue wealth because God will cause wealth to come to us as we are His children. Pastor Prince explained that the abundance of the sea means the abundance of the non-believers therefore God will cause their abundance to be turned to me.

I shall paraphrase Isaiah 60:1-5: Rise up, let the light of Christ to shine because your Jesus has come and the power of God has appeared over you. The darkness shall cause the non-believers to be blind and they will feel gloomy, but this shall not happen to you because Jesus shall shine upon you and His power shall be seen over your life. The non-believers will come to your Jesus and important people (who have earthly influence) will see the power of God is clearly causing you to be successful. You shall look all around and see that people will flock to you and your family will be gathered in happiness. Then you will open your eyes to see the power of God is at work for you and you shall flow with His Spirit and be in awe and He broadens your heart because abundance shall be turned to you and the wealth of the non-believers shall come to you.

I had a prompting to read the preceding verse because I want to know why Isaiah 60 verse one says ‘arise, shine’. Therefore I read Isaiah 59: 21.

Isaiah 59: 21 21“As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore.”

Isaiah 59 verse 21 says that God has His covenant with us, which means His Spirit is on us and His word is put in our mouth. Since Jesus already finished the work at the cross, we have the Holy Spirit in us. In order for the Holy Spirit to be upon us, we need to pray in tongues; God puts His words put in our mouth means praying in tongues. When you pray in tongues, it is the Holy Spirit praying through you and it is God Himself (the Holy Spirit) speaking His words in prayer to Daddy God.

I believe when I begin to speak more in tongues, I will arise and allow the light of Christ to shine in my life. Then all the benefits in Isaiah 60:2-5 shall happen effortlessly (without me making it happen). The reason I say this is because when I pray in tongues I am being filled with the Holy Spirit and will be able to flow with the anointing. When I am flowing in the anointing, God is leading me and my every step is of the Lord. Then the impossible will be possible as He is the One making things happen for me.

If you do not rest from your own work (or self-effort), you are making Christ of no effect (Galatians 5:4). Rest from your works or self-effort and let the Holy Spirit to cause the light of Christ to shine by speaking more in tongues; you are depending on God’s grace.

I like to remind myself of the grace and anointing of God by looking at New Creation Church and Pastor Joseph Prince because New Creation Church has grown to be a mega church in Singapore that has about 30,000 attendance (or more) every Sunday, and Pastor Joseph Prince is well-received in United States, his books are read by the Americans and his preaching in New Creation Church is being broadcast all over the world and watch by millions. Pastor Joseph Prince doesn’t look stressed or worried when it comes to building the STAR (a new church venue) which costs about SGD500 million and it is more than 60% paid.

He seldom preaches on money or tithing but always lifts up the name of Jesus and always reminds us that we are righteousness forever and God’s grace is always upon us. I believe this is what he does daily; lifting up the name of Jesus in his personal life and keeps on confessing he’s righteous and believing God’s grace is always for him.

Therefore I strongly believe in praying in tongues and then peace and joy shall fill my heart and mind in any situation, and the desire to do things for God will come naturally with the God-given ability. This year 2014 is the year I shall see more of God’s power at work for me, especially in areas I’m very weak in, people shall know that I’m not capable of achieving it and will give glory to Jesus. Miracles of God shall manifest this year 2014 as you allow the power of God to work for you by resting in Christ; not giving any thought that will cause you to worry.

The Lord shall stir you to pray more in tongues and you shall have deep understanding from the Holy Spirit in the things of God. Be greatly blessed. Shalom Shalom.
