MSMA Target 6 Plus Herbicide, manufactured by Luxembourg- Pamol, is a effective combination post-emergent herbicide and surfactant for selective control of the toughest of weeds like sandburs in cotton and golf courses.
MSMA Target 6 Plus contains the active ingredient monosodium methanearsonate (MSMA), a contact herbicide that is formulated as a liquid concentrate for easy mixing and application.

After application, it is quickly taken up by the leaves and stems of the broadleaf weed and grass, resulting in death within 10 days.
MSMA Target 6 Plus is primarily used for weed control in turfgrass areas such as lawns, golf courses, athletic fields, and non-crop areas. It is a fast and easy to use selective herbicide that eliminates hard to control weeds, like nutsedge, and eliminates the need of continous reapplications with no more than 2 applications per season.
This herbicide is effective against a variety of grassy and broadleaf weeds commonly found in turfgrass areas, including crabgrass, goosegrass, dandelions, clover, chickweed, and foxtail.
Tools Needed
MSMA can be applied with a backpack sprayer, hand-pump sprayer, or spraying rig. For the average home application, use a hand-pump sprayer.

How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much MSMA Target 6 Plus Herbicide you will need for your application. To do this, measure the treatment areas length and width in feet then multiply (length X width = square footage). For acerage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acre).
- For general applications of MSMA it should be used at a rate of 1.5oz of MSMA in 1 gallon of water to cover 1,000 square feet. So if you have a 5,000 square foot area you want to treat you would mix 7.5oz of MSMA in 5 gallons of water and spray evenly over the area. For specific weed or turf MSMA mix rates please refer to the label or contact us.
- If you are looking to use it for large acreage spraying that means you would use about 64oz per acre.
- Step 2: Now that you have determined how much MSMA Target 6 Plus you need for your targeted area, create your solution. Fill your spray tank halfway with the required amount of water. Next, add in your measured amount of MSMA, and then fill your sprayer the rest of the way with water to mix thoroughly.
- Step 3: When applying to turf areas, mow the grass to a height of 1 to 1.5 inches before application. Apply the solution to the desired area at low-pressure with a fan-spray setting for uniform coverage. Make uniform and thorough applications to targeted weeds to the point of wet, and do not water for at least 24 hours after application. When spraying on highway rights of way, spray to the point of runoff. Plants should die within 2 to 4 days. If not, reapply after a minimum of 10 days to retreat those particularly stubborn weeds.
Where to Use
MSMA Target 6 can be used on cotton fields, sod farms golf courses, and highways rights-of-way.
Do not apply MSMA Target 6 Plus Herbicide to St. Augustinegrass, carpetgrass, centipede grass, or to dichondra.
When to Use
MSMA Target 6 Plus works best when weeds are young and actively growing. If weeds are going through stress, such as during drought or cool temperatures, you may need to apply a higher dosage to get the weeds to die out. Make applications on calm days when wind speeds are between 2 and 10 mph, and when temperatures are between 65°F and 85°F.

MSMA Target 6 Plus is safe to use around pets and children if applied according to product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
After treatment, keep pets and children away from the treated area until the product has dried.
Do not apply MSMA within 50 feet of bodies of water. Do not feed foliage treated with this product to livestock or graze treated areas. Do not apply MSMA Target 6 Plus near water sources or on slopes where runoff may occur.
Special Considerations
Chlorosis, which is a yellowing of the leaves, may occur for broadcast applications of MSMA. This is normal, and the desirable turf grasses should regain their normal color in 7-14 days.
Slight burning and a reddish discoloration of cotton foliage may occasionally be seen following treatment; however cotton plants will develop normally and yield will not be affected.
MSMA Target 6 Plus cannot be used on residential turf.
