LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Masters tournament of ‘Jeopardy!’ has taken a huge blow ahead of its May 8 premiere. The primetime special that was supposed to air on ABC in three weeks has only taped four out of its 10 one-hour episodes.
The show promises to be a thrilling contest between six-star contestants namely James Holzhauer, Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, Sam Buttrey, Andrew He, and Mattea Roach but unfortunately, the fans of the show will have to wait to see their stars in action. The prize money has been clocked at $500,000 and Jeopardy has repeatedly advertised the special as its ‘biggest event ever.’ However, delays in taping the remaining six episodes have left everyone puzzled and angry.

Why was ‘Jeopardy!’ Masters tournament delayed?
The show in an official statement said, “We are so sorry for this inconvenience but will let you know when it is rescheduled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for understanding.” This comment from the show doesn’t tell the fans about the true reason for the delay of the remaining episodes. Instead, it keeps them in the dark without further explanation.

However, the recent cancellation of the taping that took place on Monday, April 24 was from an already delayed taping that was supposed to happen in March. A fan who had tickets to the taping and who was present at the time, narrated the events as they transpired. “They were supposed to film 2 hour-long episodes (essentially four 30-minute shows). After the 12.00 slot and they canceled both. We were all already seated in the audience when Ken came out personally to relay the news and he just did a Q&A with the audience instead.”
‘Jeopardy!’ fans are worried
Fans who have tickets to the taping are now worried. They were told that “[The] Plan is to resume taping at the end of April – they guaranteed tickets to that show for us, unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it.”
Executive producer Michael Davies has crafted ‘Jeopardy!’ Masters carefully and the sudden delays have left everyone worried. Earlier this year, Davies had to apologize due to an editing mistake that displayed all three players’ final scores at the beginning of one of the games in ‘Jeopardy’s High School Reunion Tournament.’ It’s a series of errors and it’s somewhat remarkable that it happened. My apologies to the audience at the top of the show. We totally blew it.”
There’s still no update on when the taping of the remaining six episodes of ‘Jeopardy Masters’ will resume, but if it does not happen soon, Davies may have to come up with another excuse.
