When Will Pvalley Return

Season two of Starz P-Valley wrapped almost two years ago, and soon, fans of the show will be getting a season three. If your “For You” page on TikTok looks anything like mine, then you may have noticed that production on season three of the stripper drama has begun. Showrunner Katori Hall has started production in Atlanta and has even promoted three actors to series regulars.

Last season left many of us with our jaws on the floor, and this season is sure to bring it. According to multiple sources, Gail Bean (Roulette), Bertram Williams Jr. (Woddy) and Thomas Q. Jones (Mane) have been promoted to series regulars for the third season of the Lionsgate TV-produced show. Mea Wilkerson is also set to join the cast as a series regular, playing the role of Haiku. This character is a new dancer at The Pynk, who will join in on all of the mess.

Bean became a recurring character in the second season of P-Valley, portraying a dancer at The Pynk. Williams took on the role of Woody, the manager of Lil Murda (J. Alphonse Nicholson). Jones appeared here and there as Mane, the head of the Chief-Fi-Chief gang, showcased in the series. Wilkerson recently ended a Broadway tour of Hairspray.

Finally, but what took so long to get season three of “P-Valley” started?

The second season of P-Valley concluded in August 2022. However, due to the strikes last year, the writing and production of the series were delayed. Per PEOPLE, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) announced that their months-long strike had come to an end after 148 days.

The labor union representing more than 1,000 entertainment writers, who work across film, television, news, and online media voted to end the writers’ strike on the morning of Sept. 27, 2023.

Starz has recently approved a docuseries inspired by P-Valley, titled Down in the Valley, which will be hosted, and executive produced by the show’s star, Nicco Annan. Alongside Annan, the P-Valley cast members Brandee Evans and Shannon Thornton are also involved. Down in the Valley is adapted from Hall’s play, P—- Valley, but a specific premiere date has not been announced yet.

Katori Hall shared a photo on Instagram celebrating the start of season three filming. Naturally, fans of the show took to the post to share their thoughts on the news. “This season better have 30 episodes [eye roll emoji],” someone commented.

Another person jokingly said, “What’s the storyline about again ??” They’re not wrong. Now fans have to go back, watch old episodes, and get caught up all over again. Several people are questioning whether a new show is really happening or not, with one person saying, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
