If he is selling JCB….run. Like really fast. They suck on every level. Here 80% of the dairies use wheel loaders. NO JCB has made 10000 hours without a trans or engine. And if you do one the other with die within the year. Light rattley, noisy, rough, slow, poor wiring, POS machines. Local dealer is decent guy and guys buy in town so they have parts…they think. Um, buy a Komatsu, Cat, or Deere and you wont need parts. Majority here are Deere E-Ks. Few Cats, 4 of 50-60. The single boom ones. Komatsu is becoming common. 2.5 g/hour is what the 200 is getting. The 544E-K is 4+/hr. When we bought our 544E (city trade in, very clean) we demoed a Komatsu 250. VERY nice. But at the time there were only 1 or 2 around an they were new. Now those guys got 10k hours and all very pleased. The big fret was the hydro trans. But it seem to be trouble free. FIL got a new 524K High lift. Nice machine, radial tires and a 3 yard make it a little… wobbly, compared to mine I feel. But friend whom we get feed from on occasion has couple 416 and 426 JCBs, we use them to load our truck. 10 years newer than our 544E and a plastic rattle box of instability.
Man, I dont wanna kick Cattech but…….there are tons of poorly maintained JD loaders with 20-30000 hours running around the county 8 hours a day 7 days a week. And when folks go to the 3 dairies with the newer Cats and run them….they get Deeres. FIL ran his best friends Cat when he was looking last winter. Said it just felt jerky and the single boom blocked the view right in front of you. In the BIG machines may be different but in the 344-624 size Deeres just feel a bit more..refined. Have 2 friends of the family whom are heavy equip mechanics on their own. They say the same thing. Cat is big and beefy and Deere is a little smoother and more cleanly built. Like precision smart bomb vs carpet bombing. All do the job but one is a little less messy..!
