Where Does Ben Haggard Live

Background

Benjamin Haggard, born on December 14, 1992, is the only son of Merle Haggard and Theresa Ann Lane. He has an older sister named Jenessa Haggard, who was born three years before him. He and his sister were frequently mistaken for their father’s grandchildren. Ben is the youngest son and child of Haggard’s six children.

He was named lead guitarist of his father’s band, The Strangers, when he was 15 years old. He was performing alongside other great musicians, such as musical director Norm Hamlet and guitarist Scott.

He was a talented guitarist, so he quickly caught up to his father’s heavy hitters. According to him, he went straight to the major leagues despite having no stage experience.

At the 2014 Grammy Awards, he performed alongside Haggard, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Blake Shelton. While the four country music artists performed ‘The Highwayman’ and ‘Mammas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys,’ he joined the stage as the guitarist. He was only 21 years old at the time.

Haggard joined his brother in a stunning performance of their father’s song ‘Today I Started Loving You Again’ in a tribute concert in Florence, South Carolina after Haggard died. They also collaborated with Nelson and Kristofferson, two country music legends.

They also collaborated on other songs, such as ‘The Runnin’ Kind I’m A Lonesome Fugitive/All In The Movies,’ which has been viewed over 24 million times. Haggard admitted that he, like his father, feels like an outsider in the contemporary country music category as he develops his sound in country music. He desired to write and perform songs that he held dear to his heart.

He had formed a creative bond with Sturgill Simpson, an American country music singer-songwriter and actor while developing his own sound. Simpson has already released six albums, one of which was Metamodern Sounds in Country Music in 2014, a tribute to Haggard’s music. When Haggard was ready to record, Sturgill agreed to produce his album. At the time, Haggard was content to simply play Hag’s songs for his many fans.

Haggard’s song ‘As Haggard as They Come’ was released in 2019. This was a tribute song he wrote for his late father and performed at the Grand Ole Opry on June 26, 2019. Haggard has been establishing his own musical career, and his talent is obvious.
