Where Is Cade Beloso From

When asked about his mindset heading into this weekend, Cade Beloso couldn’t help but get emotional at the thought of lacing up his cleats for the last time in Alex Box Stadium. It’s meant everything to him to represent LSU.

Now, Beloso prepares for his final run in Baton Rouge. A final opportunity to go out the right way in front of the intense home crowd that will be in attendance this weekend.

The epitome of an LSU Tiger, this moment means everything, and he’ll do anything in his power to go out the right way.

The Final Run

Beloso will go through the motions one last time in Alex Box Stadium. From lacing up his cleats in the locker room to going through his pregame rituals at home, it’s bittersweet for him, but he wouldn’t change a single thing.

“I’m going to try to not get too emotional. I’m going to miss my teammates the most,” Beloso said. “We’ve been blessed to have such a great team this year, really for the last five years, just the opportunity to play with some awesome dudes.

“I just love it here so much. I thank God for blessing me with the ability to play here for five years. I would take all the ups and downs 10 years in a row. I would do this all over again in a heartbeat. I’m embracing all of the emotions.”

Beloso has faced adversity all of his life, but 2022 was one of the hardest moments for the Louisiana native. After suffering a torn ACL, it changed his perspective on everything. Once he was ruled out for the year, it made his decision to return to LSU that much easier with something to prove.

Beloso’s Overall Development

As Beloso’s mindset changed, so did his game. He evolved into a certified slugger and his game has reached new heights. Through adversity and pain, he allowed himself to grow as a person mentally, but an even better player on the field.

“That’s one good thing about our coaching staff, they don’t ever stop coaching. It’s what they do. We develop people here,” Beloso said.

Beloso took on the role as the Tigers’ designated hitter this season and played his cards effectively. He’s been a major boost to this lineup when inserted and remains locked in for Super Regionals with a title inching closer.

A Chance at Omaha

There’s something special brewing in Baton Rouge and Beloso is aware of it. The entire program is aware of it. The entire state of Louisiana is aware of it. This 2023 LSU squad is special, and with the chance to punch their ticket to Omaha, they aren’t taking it for granted.

“When you take a step back and look from the outside in, there’s 16 teams playing in the country right now. That’s not a lot compared to how many teams there are in college baseball,” Beloso said. “We’re blessed to still be playing, but we earned it.

“We’re going to be focused on the task at hand and deal with whatever is in front of us. We aren’t going to be perfect, mistakes are going to happen along the way because that’s how baseball works, but what matters for us is getting back in the right frame of mind.”

Beloso has been a member of a few elite-level teams during his time with LSU, but with the potential No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the 2023 MLB Draft in their back pocket, the air is different in Baton Rouge with a title on their minds.
