Where Is Danity Kane Now

Danity Kane’s debut album topped the charts after the group starred in MTV’s reality series Making the Band 3, but where are they now? All of the leading ladies have found new passions and paths in life.

Back in 2005, viewers watched as Aubrey O’Day, Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard and D. Woods fought for their spot in the girl group, which meant impressing Diddy and choreographer Laurieann Gibson.

Although it seemed they were destined for global success and a long career, the girl squad broke up in 2014 after three studio albums and a slew of fights and firings. Scroll down to see what all five girls have been up to post-DK.

Aubrey O’Day

Aubrey became a bona fide reality star after getting the boot from Danity Kane’s first iteration in 2008. She starred in a reality show titled All About Aubrey, competed on The Apprentice and Celebrity Big Brother, and appeared on Marriage Boot Camp and Famously Single. She even dated Jersey Shore star DJ Pauly D (real name: Paul D. DelVecchio Jr.) for nearly three years after meeting him on Famously Single.

Following Danity Kane, Aubrey scored a solo record deal and released her own album. These days, she has nearly 1 million followers on social media and often shares sizzling snaps, in addition to doing Cameos so she can chat with her fans.

Shannon Bex

In the wake of the girl group‘s 2014 demise, the performer started working with Aubrey again almost immediately, forming an electro-pop duo dubbed Dumblonde. In 2015, they released a self-titled debut album, which won favorable reviews from Spin and VH1 and reached No. 129 on the Billboard 200. The singer has been taking a break from social media as of late, having last shared a self-portrait in August 2019.

Aundrea Fimbres

Aundrea seems to have dropped out of the spotlight after announcing her departure from the band’s second iteration in May 2014. The vocalist said she was engaged to be married and was ready for the “next chapter” in her life. A public Facebook post shows she wed her hubby that November. In 2015, she appeared on bandmate Dawn Richard’s song “Phoenix,” but the track was reportedly recorded during their Danity Kane days. The singer shared rare new snaps with her family in January 2019 and is still enjoying her post-limelight life.

Dawn Richard

This songstress found critical success in her solo career. Following Danity Kane’s second breakup, she released two more solo albums, Blackheart and Redemption — the latter of which was honored as one of the best albums of 2016 by Vulture and Paste. Dawn also collaborated with Adult Swim on animated commercial spots that same year and teased a new album titled Scenes coming out on April 30, 2021. She released a 16-song track list via Instagram on February 17.

D. Woods

This singer, born Wanita Denise Woodgett, chose not to participate in Danity Kane’s reunion after she and Aubrey were dismissed from the group in 2008. She embarked on a solo career post-drama, releasing three mixtapes and two EPs over the next four years. When Danity Kane reformed in 2013, the star announced she’d only be “cheering them on” as a fan, but also told Us Weekly she “would definitely be open to recording and/or performing with Danity Kane again.”

The squad later made amends and surprised fans with their first tour in four years in August 2018.
