The 71-year-old star of ABC’s upcoming show The Golden Bachelor has already stolen the hearts of fans, and he’s sure to impress the 22 senior women vying for his affection. Where Does Gerry Turner Live?
Turner lives in his dream home in Indiana. According to the IndyStar, it’s located on Big Long Lake in LaGrange County. The home, which was featured during an official preview for the show, boasts a gray-and-white exterior with a charming balcony that overlooks the water. During the preview, the retired restauranteur gave insight into his life that reveals how he came to live in the house. He explained: “I married my high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1972. We had 43 wonderful years together. We had two daughters, and I now have two wonderful granddaughters.”

He continued, “We had a real typical but beautiful life full of love, full of activity. And as years went on, I retired. We had a plan, and we had an idea of what our dream house was going to be.”
When his wife Toni retired at the end of May 2017, they bought their dream house and closed on it on June 6. “From June 6 on, it didn’t go according to plan at all,” he said. “She became ill, and her situation got worse over a couple of weeks.”
He went on to reveal that his wife had a bacterial infection that affected her kidneys and liver. He took her to the emergency room on July 7, and she passed on July 15. He continued, “Every time I look at that lake, I go, ‘This is her dream. This is what she deserves. Why am I standing here alone?’”

Turner credits his daughters and granddaughters for pulling him “out of a dark spot.” Now, he hopes to find someone he can spend the rest of his life with and who he can welcome into his family. Perhaps he’ll share the dream lake home with a new partner to carry on his late wife’s desire, or he’ll discover a different dream home that he can move into with a newfound love. Only time will tell!
