Where Is Impa After Geoglyphs

This guide covers the “Impa and the Geoglyphs” side quest. Travel northwest toward the marked location on your map. This will take you away from Central Hyrule and toward the Hebra Region. Halfway there, you’ll need to cross Carok Bridge. Be careful though, because there is a Hinox sleeping in the middle of the bridge. You can fight it if you wish, or you can crouch and sneak past it. Once you are past the bridge and the Hinox, continue following the road until you reach New Serenne Stable.

When you approach the stable, you also see there are massive markings carved into the landscape. You’ll also notice Sheikah tribe member Cado between the stable and the markings. Talk with him, and he will point out that Impa is standing in the middle of the markings.

The Geoglyphs and finding Impa

Survey the Geoglyph

Walk over to Impa to learn about the markings, which she will explain are called Geoglyphs. Multiple Geoglyphs appeared all over Hyrule after the Upheaval, and Impa is intent on investigating all of them. She has a balloon to help her with that quest, but it’s currently broken.

Use the Ultrahand to repair Impa’s balloon. Let her know you fixed it, then climb into it with her. Create a fire under the balloon so it can rise into the sky. You can use any method you’ve used to light cooking pots to light the balloon’s torch.

The Geoglyphs and finding Impa

Once you and Impa are in the sky, you’ll be able to survey the entirety of the Geoglyphs. This is when Impa will teach you about a rumored “Dragon’s Tear” that is supposedly present within each Geoglyph. After you’re done speaking with Impa, dive off of the balloon and back to the ground to begin your search for the tear.

Find the Dragon’s Tear

The tear is north of Impa’s location in a puddle resting in the middle of some markings. Investigate the puddle to view a cutscene that provides information about what happened to Zelda.

The Geoglyphs and finding Impa

Go back to Impa, who has returned to the ground, and tell her what you saw. With this new information, Impa will realize you two must visit the Forgotten Temple in Tanagar Canyon to find the next clue to the Geoglyph mystery. She and her assistant will go on ahead to the canyon, and you can meet them.

Travel to the Forgotten Temple

Travel northwest again and follow the new marker on your map to reach the canyon where the temple rests. You can either head straight down into the canyon as soon as you reach it, or you can continue to follow the road northward to a point where you can drop in and glide toward the temple’s entrance. Whichever route you choose, your goal is to reach the temple’s second-level entrance.

When you reach the entrance, you will find Cado again, who will tell you that Impa ventured into the temple on her own. You must continue further into the temple to meet her.

The safest way to do this and to avoid the enemies lurking at the bottom of the temple is to stay to the left side of the temple and remain as high up as you can. Halfway through this main chamber, you’ll reach the point when you can use your paraglider to sail toward the Shrine at the back-left end of the temple. Open the Shrine to create a fast-travel point for yourself. (You can complete the Shrine now or later if you prefer.)

Find the Geoglyph Map

You will find Impa next to the Shrine, up on a stone slab. If you speak with her, she will provide clues that suggest you continue deeper into the temple. Walk through the doorway at the end of this main chamber, past the fallen Goddess Statue, and then through two more rooms to find the temple’s final area.

The Geoglyphs and finding Impa

This lower level of this room has a map of Hyrule etched into its floor. Along with the map are depictions of 11 Geoglyphs. (This includes the one you visited already.) Jump down in the pit to stand on and examine the map. This will trigger a scene where Impa arrives to inspect the map as well.

Impa will deduce that the markings on the walls represent the Geoglyphs and that the map shows where you can find them throughout Hyrule. With this new discovery, Impa charges you with finding and investigating these geoglyphs as you continue on your quest. At this point, and at Impa’s recommendation, you should use the Camera to take a picture of the map so you can recall the Geoglyph locations later on.

Following the right Geoglyph Order

The Geoglyphs unlock cutscenes of Zelda’s fate. Each Geoglyph features a specific cutscene, so you’ll want to visit them in the correct order. To figure out which Geoglyphs you should visit first, look at the walls surrounding the map. The Geoglyphs are marked on the walls as well. Starting from left to right, you can determine in which order you should investigate the Geoglyphs.
