Where Is Lakefront Luxury Filmed

The second season of Lakefront Luxury was filmed in Canada in areas all around Lake Muskoka, Haliburton, Lake Rosseau and more.

Lakefront Luxury has always done an amazing job at showcasing the most well-designed, ultra-luxurious, and absolutely top-of-the-line lakefront homes on the market.

But if you watched the show without much research, you may not even realize that Lakefront Luxury is secretly a Canadian show, and that most of the properties shown on the show over the course of the last few years, were actually near some of Canada’s most beautiful lakes.

Lakefront Luxury’s season two locations

Though it can be helpful to know that the beautiful, scenic luxury homes which appeared on season two of Lakefront luxury were all located in Canada, if you want to visit these locations yourself (or if you are perhaps thinking about purchasing a lakefront luxury of your own at some point in the future) you might want to narrow down these locations even further.

If we really get down to specifics, most of the homes shown in this season of the show were located in one of the following locations:

  • Lake Muskoka (episodes 1, 4 and 7)
  • Haliburton (episodes 3 and 9)
  • Lake Rosseau (episode 5)
  • Lake Simcoe (episode 6)
  • Lake Ontario (episode 10)

The Lakefront Luxury season two episodes

Season two of Lakefront Luxury was aired over the course of 10 episodes, between March 14, 2019, and May 16, 2019, as follows:

Episode Title Initial air date Episode 1 “Catherine & Neil’s Legacy Lake House” March 14, 2019 Episode 2 “Jim & Jill’s Athlete Retreat” March 21, 2019 Episode 3 “Rory & Karly’s Waterfront First” March 28, 2019 Episode 4 “Don & Agnes’ Forever Home” April 4, 2019 Episode 5 “Andrew and Andrea’s Lakeside Party Place” April 11, 2019 Episode 6 “Sandra & Eric’s Waterfront Workplace” April 18, 2019 Episode 7 “Matt & Melanie’s Turnkey Dream Home” April 25, 2019 Episode 8 “Amy & Trisha’s Sibling Getaway” May 2, 2019 Episode 9 “Jessica’s Gallery on the Water” May 9, 2019 Episode 10 “Mish and Phil’s Escape from the Limelight” May 16, 2019

Which of these areas is the most expensive?

As the name suggests, Lakefront Luxury is all about finding the waterfront front homes which check all of the buyers’ boxes.

As a result, buyers usually spare no expense when it comes to the budgets for their new home, and the homes shown on the show include everything ranging from boathouses to recording studios, and just about everything in between.

This is why the price of the waterfront properties showcased on season two of Lakefront Luxury often crossed into the six- and even seven-figure mark.

And though price can very drastically from one home to the next (even in the same area), the $13.5 million Lake Simcoe home which Sandra & Eric visited in this season’s sixth episode did take the cake for the most expensive from the season.

Why does Lakefront Luxury choose these areas?

There are many different reasons why home buyers decide to spend their money on a luxury escape near some of Ontario’s most beautiful lakes.

If you have ever tuned in to watch an episode of Lakefront Luxury, you will already know that the beautiful views, relaxing environment, and all of the different lakeside activities are all part of what makes these areas so popular.

A strong, close-knit community and proximity to major urban areas like Toronto, Barrie, and Orillia is what draws most newcomers to Lake Simcoe.

But Lake Muskoka, on the other hand, offers a relaxing escape from the busy city life while also maintaining a sense of wonder through its many outdoor activities and beautiful scenery (and, of course, relatively low property tax rates).

Haliburton offers everything from swimming fishing, and waterskiing, to wakeboarding and lazy cruises and it also has a rich arts and culture scene.

There may be a scientific reason why these areas appeal to so many buyers

Though it is not particularly difficult to feel a little bit envious of the beautiful homes shown on Lakefront Luxury, there may be more to our connection to the show than that.

It turns out that some researchers believe that our brains enter an almost meditative state when we are in close proximity to water.

Marine biologist, Dr. Wallace J. Nichols posits in his Blue Mind book that a proximity to water can actually improve performance, increase calm, diminish anxiety, and more.

And if this really does, as he puts it “provide a blueprint for a better life”, then that calming feeling could be part of the reason why we feel so drawn to this show.
