Geography of Noida

Spread over an expansive 20.316 hectares, Noida is an important part of NCR. It is about 25 km southeast of New Delhi and 20 km northwest of the district headquarters Greater Noida and 457 km northwest of Lucknow, the state’s capital. Noida is bound on the west and southwest by the Yamuna River and located 30 km from New Delhi. In the south, Noida is bound by the meeting point of two rivers Yamuna and Hindon.

Noida Weather and Noida Temperature

Noida is 202m above sea level and the climate of Noida is typically hot and dry. In summer from March to June the temperature ranges from 48⁰C to 28 ⁰C. June is the warmest month of the year in Noida and during the year there is a little rainfall in the city. Winters in Noida is chilly and harsh, even it has fog and smog problems as well. Dense fog in January month, reduces the visibility on the streets.

Economy

Noida has become a hub for software and mobile app development companies and these companies contribute to the city’s economy. It is the major hub for the multinational companies like IBM, EXL Service, TSYS International, AON Hewitt, Abstract Consultancy, Sparta Consulting, Accenture, TCS, Fujitsu, Ebix, Tech Mahindra, CSC, Fiserv, The Smart Cube, Metlife, HCL, Tribal Fusion, Indus Valley Partners, Adobe, DELL, One97, Patni Computers, Corbus, JK Tech., Many large software and business process outsourcing companies have their offices in the city. Because of the special economic zone, the suburban atmosphere and its proximity to Delhi, many other companies have open their branch offices in Noida.

Transport in Noida

Metro

Noida has excellent Metro connectivity. It was planned to enter Noida in the year 2011 but, opened on 12th November 2009, 10 months before the scheduled date and Commonwealth Games. It is well connected to Delhi through Metro. It is now connected to Connaught Place, Dwarka Sub City and New Delhi via Blue Line Metro. Aqua line is another metro line runs between Sector-51, Noida and GNIDA Office, Greater Noida are already operational.

Roads

Noida has good road connectivity to Delhi NCR and other cities of Uttar Pradesh state. As Noida is a planned city so, due to the proper planning all main roads are 6 lanes wide, arrow straight and are well finished. It has three main expressways – DND Flyway, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway. DND Flyway connects Noida and Delhi and Yamuna Expressway connects Greater Noida to Agra via Mathura.

Rail/Air

Noida has no direct connection with Railways, but yes the railway stations are easily reachable by road, including Ghaziabad and Ananad Vihar. However, the commuters more often use metro line to reach from New Delhi and Old Delhi Railway Stations. The nearest Airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

Bus

At Morna Village in Noida Sector 35, Noida has its bus stand. One can find regular buses from Noida to nearby cities like Dehradun, Tappal, Bulandshahr, Haridwar, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Khair, Delhi, Meerut, etc. But, they are planning to shift the bus stand from Morna Village.
